Read moreTop notch service - this was above and beyond my expectation even at 5-star hotel level. They actually checked on me in the room when when I forgot to switch off room privacy mode for close to 24hrs. They were very polite and professional, coming in pair and clearly identified themselves and why the knocking on door. When I encountered an incident in the room, Duty Manager came up within 10min with his team to check and investigate, again, very politely checking if he could enter the room with another colleague to check. I was swiftly given a new room close to mid-night - the staff was ready outside my room when I done packing to move to new room (and I had a little cake, quite yummy, surprise in my new room the next day) 👍🏻👍🏻 Upon checking out, I was surprised the Duty Manager came by and apologised for the incident. Amazing!
Rooms were large and extremely comfortable. I tried cleaning/sanitising my room, but I could not see any dust on my wetwipes on every possible surface. No weird smell nor stains anywhere, bathroom was extremely clean.
Around the hotel grounds, the staff always greeted us politely and I really felt very welcomed in Mulia. It is a grand looking place yet not those super old style kind of elegance. Hotel elevators move fast and I never had to wait for long.
I enjoyed the buffet dinner and the staff were so attentive, by the 2nd and 3rd time I went, they remembered me and which item I have not tried. I love the desserts - coffee/ mango jelly in glass, matcha/ osmanthus/ coconut/ almond jellies. The staff behind counter happily showed me more variety though he had already packed them back fridge as they were closing soon. The grill and stir fry stations were excellent, and so was the lo mai gai (rice wrapped in leaf).
If there is something to improve, it would be good to have more variety across the days for breakfast. To have different types of bread (that can go into toaster) though other pastry options are already plentiful. For cooked food would be good to serve potatoes in different forms each day. Shower toiletries are not from big brands but is good enough for use.
Overall, it was a very safe and comfortable stay and the service...
Read moreI only come here for the breakfast buffet since it's always listed in the google map (review) of point more than 4.5 stars and always show on the top 3. Therefore, I choose this one. But, it turned out to be a so-so decision. I really have to say, in term of being a five-star hotel, (i am very much doubt what and why the stars is giving like that and is there a standard protocol of granting stars?), the breakfast buffet here is quite disappointing. I would never imagine a Japanese Sa-Shi-Mi would appear on the menu of breakfast. Not to mention, they serve broken chop-sticks (broken at the edge; which is really crucial for hygiene and cleaning). I mean in such a high-standard hotel and its restaurant, proving the most appropriate (at least for the sake of safety) utensil in the most important and basic thing. I will not further talk about the presentation of the Japanese corner. I am not sure whether it is a generally speaking, but the way they present Japanese food is really not Japanese, instead, they present it in a more convenient but not as good enough to, that Japanese they would think of to present. For the rest of the breakfast menu, I could only say, just hit the standard of 3 or less-star hotel. In terms of food variety and the preparation, and also the presentation, it is far less than I've expected for the previous few days since I arrive at Jakarta. I've been so much expecting this breakfast buffet but it only could feed me but not fulfill my soul's craving for quality and decent breakfast. By the way, please allow me to address the table-service, which is not as the food served, is excellent and wonderful. Very caring and attentive. This must be the savior of experience of my...
