Actually, I like this place. It's nice, cozy and quiet. The coffee quality is pretty good, the food not bad but also not really a lot above average. A nice place to hang out for a while and relax from the noise of the city.
However, it seems that the management does not have the best feeling for hospitality. I myself have worked in various cafés, bistros, restaurants, pubs and bars for over ten years and have learned that the overriding principle is that you treat your guests the way you would like to be treated as a guest. I assume that's not at the top of the list here.
My twelve-year-old son dropped a glass out of his hand and broke it. We apologized, ordered a new drink and asked for a cloth to wipe everything clean. While we were cleaning up the mess, the waitress told us that we would be charged for the glass. Nowhere in the world and never in my life (I'm in my early sixties) have I experienced anything like this in a restaurant. Broken glass is normally included in the price of the drink and is a normal risk in the hospitality industry. At first I thought “Well, let's see if they're serious.” When I paid, I was actually charged 50k rupiah for the glass (about the same as I would have to pay for 6 NEW glasses at IKEA, for example). After I expressed my displeasure about this not very quietly (sorry about that, it wasn't okay!), the cashier finally refrained from insisting.
I think it's simply rude and not very smart to treat your guests like that. A glass slipped out of a twelve-year-old's hand. By mistake. He didn't throw it against the wall on purpose or anything. We cleaned up the mess ourselves, apologized and of course ordered a new drink. And on top of that, we were supposed to pay a multiple of the new value of the glass? Hello?
Perhaps you'd better reconsider whether this is the right attitude when you run a business where guest satisfaction is the best advertisement and the most...
Read moreThe Wi-Fi is quite slow, the coffee is great however it's a bit overpriced for its quality. The food is highly inconsistent in that some options from the menu are wonderful such as the chicken Rica Rica however other things from the menu such as burgers and such are sorry to say, very much lacking. Therefore, for their eastern dishes two thumbs up but for their western dishes I wouldn't recommend it. The ice salt caramel mocha is quite addicting and I live walking distance from...
