Disappointing Experience with Nasi Liwet Kendil & Gado-Gado at Madame Delima

I had high expectations when I ordered the Nasi Liwet Kendil and Gado-Gado from Madame Delima Authentic Indonesian Restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming.

First, the delivery took far longer than expected. While I understand that good food takes time, the long wait built anticipation that was sadly not met. When the food finally arrived, I hoped the flavors would make up for the delay, but that was not the case.

The Nasi Liwet Kendil looked appealing at first, but the taste was surprisingly bland. The rice lacked the rich, fragrant coconut and pandan aroma I was expecting, and the accompaniments felt uninspired. The salted egg was fine, but it didn’t add much to the overall dish. The sambal had a decent kick, but it couldn’t save the rest of the meal.

As for the Gado-Gado, the peanut sauce was too thin and lacked depth. A good gado-gado should have a bold, nutty flavor with a balance of sweetness and spice, but this one tasted watered down. The vegetables were fresh, but they didn’t make up for the lackluster sauce.

To make matters worse, the price did not justify the quality. For an “authentic” Indonesian restaurant, I expected better execution. Unfortunately, it was an overpriced and forgettable meal. I won’t be...

Decent ambience at a glance, but from there the restaurant kept disappointing, mostly by incompetent staffs. Upon arriving, a security insisted to take my keys for valet, but no number or receipt was exchanged. No staff was ready at the front desk, we had to fetch one from inside the restaurants to be seated. They are not understaffed because some are actually hanging at the back just talking to each other.

Foods took so long to deliver. We had to cancel a menu after 45 mins and the staff, after checking the kitchen, dared to persuade us to have it anyway because the cooking had begun. Other food tasted mediocre, undersized, yet overpriced.

Worst was when we were about to leave, because a car was blocking mine. One of my companion had to catch a flight, but the supposedly valet guy could not locate the driver who had the key (he enforced the rule on me but not on another man). The guy was nowhere to be found and staffs including manager were not doing much to help, even made up excuses like "maybe he's praying somewhere". We were stood up for more than 30 minutes in the parking...

The place is located right in the middle of city and easy to find. It is luxurious and so comfortable.

Here you can order a la carte for a single person or you want to enjoy the food and share it with your friends together.

As for the price, i would say a little bit pricy, but considering the place, location, concept and menu, it is also understandable.

I do like the Chicken with Kecombrang Sambal, it is so refreshing and the chicken itself is so easy to eat. I do recommend to order this!

Starting from around 30k, you can enjoy the food here, but at least you'll need 100k-250k pro person to enjoy what's best here.
