Magal Korean BBQ Pondok Indah — Restaurant in Jakarta

We live very close to Magal Pondok Indah, so it is our neighborhood Korean restaurant. We enjoy the food and find the service to be okay. It's a good place to go when we don't want to drive far.

At times it's very crowded, though we have not seen that since before COVID. The facility seems a bit small. Sometimes the air is a bit smoky, but I guess that's what happens when you BBQ indoors. The private rooms upstairs are very nice for small groups or family dining.

They do have pork as well as beef. I find the quality of ingredients to be very good. Of course this makes the flavor quite good as well. The variety of the small dishes brought to the table before dinner is excellent and ever changing.

Magal Pondok Indah is a good neighborhood...

To be honest this Korean BBQ joint to me is only at par.. We came in for dinner on Saturday night & ordered the boneless marinated ribs, marinated pork skirt & samgyeopsal. The pork dishes were just fairly good while the boneless ribs were disappointing.. It doesn’t have that enough thickness & the flavor it has was not enough.. It costs us nearly 300k for a portion & yet it was a bummer, you guys should improve the meat quality tho. Had lunch here yesterday (Saturday). They were busy and we had a private room on the 2nd floor. Service was slow, and they forgot a couple of dishes that we had ordered. I reminded them a few times and it took several tries to finally get all our orders. To be fair, I've been here many times, and have had good experiences, but time it was different. The staff seemed overwhelmed and had poor attitude. I asked one staff to take our photo and he was disgruntled. What is wrong, guys? Covid...
