Pondok Nasi Kebuli Ibu Hanna Mampang Prapatan South Jakarta February 2019
Nasi Kebuli Kambing for 40 K IDR.
The serving may look small, and they sure did skimp on the meat, but the rice turned out to be quite packed so it was actually quite filling. Sadly they clearly did not put enough spices to make the rice noteworthy.
Nevertheless, one must admit that this probably the most tender pieces of lamb one has had in a very very long while. Subsequently, it also does not smell at all, so this would be a good option for those who are usually put off by the smell.
The price may seem steep, but i have paid more for lesser quality Kebuli in Jakarta so i will have to say that this 40 K is quite worth it. They also have a 60 K option with more meat, so i might try that option out next time. Furthermore, they offer lamb meat balls (which are really rare in Jakarta) for 15 K which is quite cheap so i think i will have to go there again someday to try it out.
Their 38 K gulai kambing (lighter version of curry) is filled with more meat but a portion of white rice is an extra 5 K. I only tried a sip of it, and i think it has all the signs of tenderly cooked meat, but i must say that they really skimped on the spices. Which is personally quite a let down for me, but it may do well with those who prefer them lightly spiced.
Their 10 K juices are fresh and of great value, so overall i must say that this was quite a good dinner. Thank you, @dsawung...
Read moreI was in the area. Stopped at this place as i saw that it had a lot of good reviews. I am disappointed with the quality as the reviews hyped up this place so much. Don’t get me wrong, the food was edible, but it tasted like it came out of a box. I ordered the lamb kabuli (basmati rice) and arabic tea. The rice was dry and tasted grainy. The lamb pieces did not have much meat and had a lot of bones. Portions were a bit on the smaller side for the price. The tea tasted like it came in powder form. One of the pictures show the remnants of the powder that was not stirred in properly. Overall, it was very underwhelming compared to the glowing reviews that it has. There are other middle eastern places in jakarta with...
Read moreTerakhir kesini, restaurannya kayaknya gk seluas tadi, brarti memang ada perluasan, berarti memang rasa makanannya makin dikenal banyak orang. Sesuai dgn judulnya, biasanya say pesen nasi kebuli. Memang nasi kebulinya rasanya antebbb. Rempahnya kenceng, tapi gk berlebihan, daging kambin gorengnya empuk. Kalo cuma soal rasa, saya brani kasih bintang 5,...
