RICARAJA Restaurant - Boulevard Kelapa Gading — Restaurant in Jakarta

The service and the systems in this place is by far the WORST that i know. We came on 18:00, they told us to put our name on the waiting list, been waiting for more than 40 mins, and the most shocking thing was, the person that came after us is already seated!! The nightmare doesn’t stop there, we’ve been given seat at the side, and there are no server or waiters there, they put one barcode to order the menu, we put the order and waited for another 30 mins, but it appears that there’s no checker on our table. Another guest came after us, they order directly to the waiters that finally came to her post, and another miserable thing happen to us, our neighbor got the food first, and after taking a good look around, a lot of the person that came after us already started eating!!!! Got to know this place from a food reviewer, and literally hope it will be a good experience for us, but this by far is my worst experience in my whole life!! Even far more worst than when i ate at food stalls, at least they got the order right, serve with smile and courtesy....

The food was good. We ordered perkedel jagung (corn fritter), this is nice one, less oily, less flour so you can taste the corn. Rahang tuna bakar madu (honey grilled tuna jaw) looks great but taste wise just sweet, would be nice if there is a little bit spicy so it will be balance between sweet and tasty. Cakalang rabe (not spicy) is nice, but I would say too dry. And bunga pepaya tumis cakalang (the papaya flower), I love it the most, fresh and tasty. I know this place is famous for the spicy but unfortunately I didn’t have chance to try that. Btw it comes with the complimentary chillies, the one that has green tomatoes is the best one. The ambience is ok, the place is mostly full of customers all the time. I feel it’s a bit pricey but probably because it’s specialised manado which hard to find in Jakarta and the portion is big, should be enough for 4-5 persons for what we ordered. The service is great, very friendly and accomodating. Will definitely come again to try...

The place has lots of parking, and the ambience is nice with a modern look of manado's culture. The place provides deliveries too if you have events.

We tried the best (honestly this is the place I know that sells this) rahang tuna in town! Rahang Bakar Madu - My favorite, it's a blend of coconut and maybe crack. It's nice to dig your hands right through their face. One portion can be shared by two honestly. Rahang Goreng Dabu Dabu - you can ask them to cook it together, or have the dabu dabu on the side. Overall very juicy and crispy. Perkedel Jagung (Or Bakwan Jagung in other places) - My gf's favorite, the texture is similar to telor goreng mekar, it's 4 piece a pop, and is super big. Panada - always a good appetizer, but they did not reheat it. Kangkung Bunga Pepaya - it's prepared well, salty and savory, not bitter at all! Lemon Cui - if you need a sour note to cleanse the palatte, this is The Thing.
