Selawaktu Cafe — Restaurant in Jakarta

It's a nice place to hang out with. Their beverage signature is salted caramel iced coffee. It's a nice and low caffeine kind of coffee, very suitable for those who have GERD but still want to drink coffee.

Despite their nice location and surroundings, they don't operate very well. These are 2 reasons:

They don't allow any food brought from outside. When people bring something outside your restaurant it means that they like your place, but perhaps your restaurant doesn't serve any kind of food that they bring. They want to enjoy the moment with colleagues by eating their favorite food, but you don't serve that then it's not really convenient. If the food brought in is the same as your menu then it's fair for you to forbid.

Their preparation time sucks. When you order mineral water you expect it to come in not more than 5 minutes. But it came almost 20 minutes. Moreover, when you order an iced coffee I think it's fair to say the preparation time is between 7-10 minutes, but after waiting and asking whether it's ready for almost 3 times it came after 30 minutes. Plus the order situation isn't crowded.

Since it's a brand new cafe in Tebet, you could tell that it has a mesmerizing interior that would catch the cafe lover. The industrial urban style will leave you enjoy your coffee and give the best experience for enjoy it with friends or family.

For the food, the menu isn't too vary in the form of rice bowl, but they have the pastry and donut as well. The taste is good, the portion is big enough for me, and worth the price as well. For the coffee, I don't think it's special but I can enjoy it. Instead, I would recommend you to try the Es Susu Regal. It's sweet, but tasty!

This cafe also has two smoking area, inside and outside. And the most important thing, the toilet is clean and well maintained. Even they have the reed diffuser...

The place is already crowded, make sense because it’s located in vibrant area of Tebet. We ordered Bailey’s and creamy salted caramel sandwich.

What I would like to change is the menu. It should contain description of its food and beverage. Me and my friend had trouble in choosing their coffee specialty with no description.

Bailey’s is okay. I mean I’ve had better Bailey’s beforehand. The sandwich itself is not too sweet so it’s okay for those who doesn’t really like sweet dessert. But I taste too little of its salted caramel sauce. It was okay, edible, but not the one that I would recommend.
