"Like looking for a diamond in the mud. Except, the diamond isn't actually there."
Sushi GO! offers a unique dining experience, that is conveyor belt sushi, which is not commonly found in Indonesia as most sushi chains usually opt for sushi boxes and ala carte. In addition to said experience, Sushi GO!'s selling point is the flat price of all sushi plates, which costs customers only Rp. 15k per plate excluding tax. Each plate contains one to three pieces of sushi depending on the type. Nigiri sushi and gunkan are usually served in two pieces per plate while fusion sushi such as Salmon Bomb comes in one piece per plate. With each plate costing Rp. 15k, it is quite affordable to eat as much sushi as you'd like.
Though conveyor belt sushi is their main selling point, ala carte is available as well. Nigiris, gunkans, and other types of sushi can still be ordered by means of ordinary methods. This is usually done for sushi which contain meat that may not be suitable for long exposure period at room temperature.
This leads to the first drawback which is prominently present at Sushi GO!, i.e. the lack of sushi variation on the conveyor belt. Most types found on cycle consist of inari, tamago, and the likes. This entails the fact that there is a tendency for customers to sit at the sushi bar just looking for a desireable sushi plate but ending up not finding any. While this is justified by the fact that salmon and tuna sushi, for instance, might not taste as good if not picked within a couple hours, it defeats the purpose of having conveyor belt sushi. Such an experience might resemble an activity of searching for something of great value only to find that it actually is non-existent. It is expected that with the presence of a conveyor belt system, it would be unnecessary for a customer choosing to sit at the sushi bar to resort to ala carte ordering method.
Service is decent at best, though this could be because the restaurant has been cutting cost by reducing the amount of employees during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, mistakes should not be acceptable. For instance, an order on Aburi Ika nigiri plate was placed and confirmed by a waiter. However, it did not come out at all. Instead, when asked, the waiter revealed that ika (squid) was out of stock. Such a blunder may leave other customers waiting for something that does not exist at the time.
While the service could still be tolerated, the availability of menu item was unacceptable. During a visit, the writer found that ramen, ika, chuka idako, and even unagi were in fact out of stock. This led to the thinning of the menu items to contain mostly salmon and tuna. While for some it might be tolerable to have only salmon and tuna, others who prefer having a broad variety of sushi on their table may be left unsatisfied. Regardless, ordering a range of items and finding out that the majority of them is unavailable tends to discourage customers from coming for a second visit despite the food items possessing high quality and enjoyable flavors.
In conclusion, while Sushi GO! offers high quality and delicious sushi, the restaurant suffers heavily from unavailability of numerous menu items. The conveyor belt sushi experience has the potential to be a very pleasant and enjoyable one though the restaurant does not seem to be brave enough to focus on it by keeping interesting menu items ala carte only. To improve customer experience, it is suggested that the availability of menu items are significantly improved and made available on the...
Read moreSushi Go! located at the LMP1 next to Ippudo. On a busy hour, usually there's waiting list. What I love here and will 100% recommend is: Aburi Beef Salmon Bomb Salmon Sushi (Was) Chicken Teriyaki. It was declining from time to time. It was very good portion, very good seasoning, very good plating. All WAS awesome. Now I lost my favorite meal, as seen on picture it was wet and very questionable portion. To whom it may concern, please fix this and be more consistent in cooking. Bring back the sexy glazed Chicken Teriyaki. You should try cake for the dessert.
Note: if time shows 9.30 pm and you are still confuse what to eat, don't ever waste your time to come here because their last order is 9 pm. come here below min. 9 p.m. They won't fill the sushi belt over 9 pm but you still...
Read moreSushiGo! in Lippo Mall Puri occupies a cozy corner on the lower level of the mall. While the space isn't expansive, it's still inviting and comfortable. The service is decent, though there was a hiccup when the ice cream included in my ordered package was unavailable and substituted with tamago sushi.
In terms of taste, the sushi offerings are standard fare, satisfying but not exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the variety of sushi in the package, along with the fried rice. However, the chuka idako leaned a bit too much on the sweet side for my liking.
Despite these minor issues, SushiGo! remains a good choice for a lunch outing with friends or family. If you're in the mood for a convenient and enjoyable sushi meal, it's...
