I recently visited Tanatap Café and found it to be an interesting experience, particularly because of its ambiance.
While the coffee tasted good, the true highlight of Tanatap is its setting. The interior is a bit dark, but this is contrasted by large windows that offer views of lush greenery outside. The use of glass blocks adds a unique architectural touch. Interestingly, this café also serves as an office for a well-known architectural firm, which might explain its distinct design.
However, the dark interior does have a downside, as some corners can appear a bit dirty.
As for the coffee, while it may not be the best in town, it is certainly great with a balanced taste. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try their food.
In terms of pricing, it's not cheap, but it doesn't break the bank either. The service was satisfactory.
The place is popular and often crowded with people socializing or holding business meetings. The furniture deserves a special mention for being well-designed, comfortable, and ergonomic.
Access to the café is relatively easy, even for larger vehicles like SUVs, thanks to the decent road leading to it.
Overall, Tanatap Café offers good coffee in a uniquely designed space, making it a...
Read moreFirst, there was a payment error. We were only charged around Rp50k-ish for a matcha latte, iced chocolate, vanilka, garlic chicken rice, and banana fritters via QRIS.
As for the service, we arrived around 7 PM and were told our food would be ready in 15 minutes. After waiting with no clear updates, we had to ask multiple times and eventually request takeaway. What made it more frustrating was seeing another group who arrived later being informed of a delay, offered a refund, and receiving their food earlier than us. While the staff mentioned a kitchen mix-up, there was also a clear lack of communication and follow-up from the frontliners.
We appreciate that the issue has since been addressed. The management contacted us and wouldn’t let us pay the remaining Rp150k, instead they offered us complimentary discount. Though, we did not accept it because it’s not the amount that bothers us, but rather the store management. We hope this feedback helps improve service going...

I’m truly amazed by its design. From the moment you enter, the plant-covered roof on the façade is such a beautiful touch.
The staff are friendly and accommodating, which always adds to the experience.
The Food I absolutely love their Coffee Aren—the balance of sweetness and bitterness is just right.
The banana bread is perfect for a light breakfast. It’s moist, fluffy, and you can really taste the banana without being overpowered by the chocolate. The risol was soft and enjoyable. I just wish it had a bit more cheese to elevate the flavor.
The architectural design remains a favorite. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and the presence of plants—especially outdoors—gives it a refreshing vibe (It reminds me of the movie: Me Before You). The ceiling could use a little cleaning, but that wouldn’t stop me from coming back again.
