A see through wall javanese restaurant with a touch of java n oldies interiors. Indoor n outdoor seatings are available with high ceilings. Quite nice really. Tried gado gado here, it was creamy, sweet n slightly spicy, portion was a bit off as there were plenty of crackers, minimum of veggies but with a pool of peanut sauce. Could only tell they put some potatoes, tempe, other veggies were in question as all were finely chopped in small pieces. Es campur is okay with mountain high ice shaving, the fillings also chopped in small pieces. Bandrek kelapa was wayyyy to sweet that i have to mix with plain water. Love how generous the portion is, especially for sides like tahu goreng/tempe goreng and the amount of sambal you get. I’ve never seen penyetan restaurant giving huge cuts of tempe/tahu goreng as sides.
Price point wise, it’s not too bad and the soup (sayur asem/sayur lodeh) is also large, I only needed half of my rice portion to get full. Gado gado is pretty nice too, you can request for customized spice level. For sambal, sambal bawang is the popular choice and it’s really great, not overly spicy but just nice for legit penyetan experience.
