Yawara Private Dining — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went with 4 people to have a pleasant and nice exclusive dinner at Yawara but was overall disappointed about the service and standard. The red wine was served straight from a wine chiller: when confronting the staff about why they chill a red wine, they claimed it’s their standard. Where in the world is cold red wine a standard?!? No explanation given and a request for an ambient temperature red wine could not be answered. You guys have deep knowledge about wine and every wine maker will be deeply offended! The staff never showed up at the table to ask whether everything is fine or offered pouring new drinks into our empty glasses. We had to shout for staff when wanting to order new items. Towards the end, the staff asked for our sauce sets cause another table would need them. What the heck is wrong with you? Price-value and really at the low end so we won’t come back here. We had a random Japanese dinner at Yawara! The banchan were delicious, including beef tongue, macaroni, and more 😋

1️⃣ Wagyu Karubi: we ordered some meat by the 100 grams. Wagyu karubi was perfect if you like thin slices, and we also got prime harami, which is a bit thicker. Overall, it was delicious, and the meat and sauces went well together 🥓👍🏻

2️⃣ Kimchi: the kimchi was surprisingly tasty! I'm not usually a fan of kimchi, but the one here paired wonderfully with the meat 💥

3️⃣ Tempura: we also ordered some fried items like king prawn, eggplant, and a few other vegetables. But to be honest, they tasted quite ordinary 🍤🍆🥬

The ambiance was tranquil and private, making it great for a relaxed...

Their kuroge wagyu was amazing but I wished they'd told me it was very thinly sliced. Personally prefer thick cuts.

My orders took 40 minutes to arrive even though I requested to grill on my own.

Also don't bother ordering their wagyu sando unless you're ordering the most expensive option. The sliced wagyu sando was pretty bad.

Everything else was great. Tongue, tempura, vegetables, all good.

Also you get some privacy with the seating. A rarity even in high end...
