Flamingo Restaurant — Restaurant in Kecamatan Karangasem

Negatives: I came back here 2 years after my first review (see below). The chicken satay was very disappointing. Like a cafe meal, they were tiny slivers of overcooked chicken blobs on sticks (only warm, not hot as I'd asked for) and tasteless without the sauce. I'd rather pay more and have moist, freshly cooked solid pieces of chicken breast. I gave feedback for the chef, but you know... It's Bali.

Pluses: The view was stupendous, worth paying for. It's overlooking the illuminated ocean with a lovely breeze and some quiet space to myself on the water's edge.

Two glasses of red wine for $150++ helped ease the disappointment of the food somewhat. :)

Also, the staff are very attentive, polite, professional and not too intrusive.

The breakfast was nice but we ate the pizzas on a 241 offer the day before and the base was thin, too crispy and like cardboard. It was pre-made/shop bought, not fresh, it tasted like a cheap shop bought pizza in the UK. Wouldn't waste your money. Would love to have tried the cocktails which looked great but they refused to honour happy hour at 6:02 when I had been in the pool enjoying the sunset and hadn't realised it had just ticked past 6 when I came to order. I appreciate these deals are time limited but as a hotel guest an exception could have been made and other patrons wouldn't have known as it would have been...

Beautiful location but, for two consecutive nights, the food has been absolutely appalling: salad drowning in dressing, minute portion of pawns; vegetables non-existent even though clearly stated in the menu that they come with the main course chosen.

When challenged they gave an inadequate reply that the dish doesn't normally come with veg! So why advertise it as such?! Veg then brought out but might as well have been a garnish! I query this and eventually more, completely over-cooked veg arrives which I'm informed I won't be charged for! I should think not!
