Sanjung is one of the Korean restaurants in karawaci. The location is super strategies because it's near the supermall of karawaci and UPH. So, you can easily go there.
It was my first time eating here. I came with my friends. It was a nice experience to try new dishes here, although the price is a bit expensive. Btw, it's not ayce resto. The interior was nice and cozy. You can choose to eat in a private room, so you can feel safe to eat here during the pandemic.
I ordered some food here: Beef, pork, bibimbap, san-nakjil, yukhoe, mul naengmyeon, and makkoli. Beef and pork dish was so good. The meat dish never goes wrong. But, if u ask me. I will prefer a beef dish to a pork dish. Bibimbap also tasted good. It was a nice experience to mix all the ingredients. I think in Indonesia it tasted like pecel or gado". San-nakjil dan yukhoe. San-nakjil is a raw octopus dish. Yukhoe is raw beef. It was my new experience to try san-nakjil dan yukhoe. But, I prefer to eat yukhoe. Because the tasted was sweet and it so refreshing if eat yukhoe with pear. I didn't like the aftertaste of san-nakjil. Because it tasted fishy and difficult to chew. Mul naengmyeon. I liked the mul naengmyeon because it give me the refreshed effect after eating that. The taste was so unique for me. And the texture of the noodle also different from the noodles that I have tried. But, a lot of my friends didn't like this dish because the taste of vinegar was so strong. Makkoli. It was tasted like "tape" in Indonesia. You can rid of the greasy taste after drinking this.
The resto also gives the side dish and corn tea for free. And you can refill it if you want.
I hope this review will help you a lot. Sorry, if my English is so bad. But, I will try my best in...
Read moreAlthough quite far from Jakarta, this place is worth coming for. Food is fantastic and the place gives authentic Korean vibes. We tried many many dishes and none dissapoints. The naengmyeon is nice, chewy, cold and tart as it's supposed to. The japchae has lots of flavor and umami in it. The jokbal is a bit bland on the lean part but quite aromatic. The galbi variants are all very good. The yukhoe beef tartare is super awesome and flavorful, all in the right temperature. The budae jjigae has good stew broth, but maybe a tad too many tteokbokki making it taste cheaper than it's supposed to. The kalbi jjim is not what I expect it to taste, but overall not bad although it too has way too much tteokbokki in it. What makes San Jung stands out from other Korean restaurant is their smoked duck. It's a very simple dish with complex and wonderful taste. Aside from the perfect smokeyness, the duck is super tasty with that nice little duckly smell, all while still very tender and juicy. The ratio between meat and fat is perfectly balanced. A portion of the duck isn't too much, but I highly recommend this one dish.
The cold tea isn't too cold but you can ask for ice cubes. Service is good and fast. In overall it's a great experience to be a customer...
Read moreUtterly disappointed today.
I agree that San Jung’s dishes were great. But the service today was not even bare minimum.
I have reserved a private room since 2 days ago. I arrived 20 minutes earlier than the reserved time. I was told that no private room was available and no table was available, even though I have reserved it. I was confused and I said I’ll wait until my reserved time if they need more time to make sure I can get a table.
After 10 minutes, they told me that I need to wait another 1.5 hours to get a table. They told me that the policy is first come first serve. What’s the point of reservation then? You should not have offered reservation if that is the case.
No other solution was offered to me. No sorry was conveyed.
For anyone else wanting to try San Jung and want to reserve: I would suggest to still try and have no expectation. Their level of service’s management was not at that level yet. Expect the bare minimum,...
