Good Friends Bistro & Cafe Karawaci — Restaurant in Kelapa Dua

EDIT: 16 September 2025. Ok, so we've been coming back here a few times since we had the mediocre experience last year, so I guess it's fair that I alter my review of this place.

I must admit, they have improved significantly, most noticeably in their service. Even during peak hours, food were coming out within reasonable time. Same comment goes to food quality, though I reckon can be tweaked a bit more for the better.

Hats off to the owners for spending time at the premise putting all the efforts to make the place excel & well done to the team members working there for willing to change.

Please keep the place clean and never stop improving =)

I do apologize for the harsh comment I made last year, but it was truly a disappointing experience back then.

Thanks. YM. Disappointed... =( The first two visit were pleasant. The third time we came for dinner on August 17, the place was almost full house. Service was rubbish, foods took ages to arrive and when they did, they were nowhere near cooked! Really? You guys were serving raw fish to my pregnant wife? Asked for the steak to be put back in the grill and get it cooked well done, yet nobody in the kitchen seemed to care. Steak came back the same shape it went to when i asked it to be cooked/grilled more.

Came again tonight, September 1. I personally said that we were disappointed the last time we came and only to be shrugged off with an "oh".

And guess what? We have been waiting 30 minutes and have asked twice for our fried rice. Again, nobody seemed to care. Really, how hard is it to get a nasi goreng done????

When it did eventually came, it was just "veggie fried rice" when it's supposed to be Nasi Goreng Good Friends.

The place isn't that busy either as I type this.

We came during lunch, the place is crowded but we still got a table indoors.

Ordered their Sop Iga, Soto Lamongan, Burger and banana fritters.

Everythings great, except the burger.

The burger came out cold after almost 30 mins. (Understandable since its crowded) Not even a bit warmth left. Maybe they forgot to serve? the fries is also cold, patties dry. No tomato / chili sauce unless you asked. I dont wanna finish it, but my nephew did.

Their coffee is nice. Iced sweet tea tastes like drinking pure sugar. Choco smores is a hot choco with a separate marshmallows on a small metal skewer, its quite sharp. Be careful.

They have wifi, toilet (clean), big umbrella in case its raining outside. Waiters are nice, helpful.

We’ll try it again another time when its less crowded.

Recommended dish: Sop...

We went to this restaurant for light snack and we try : Buffalo Wings 9/10 Love this one, the wings have tangy and bit spicy flavour.

Mozarella sticks 7/10 Just like ordinary mozarella sticks

Truffle Fries 7/10 Nothinh special

Fried Banana 9/10 Sirprisingly good. Their banana are sweet and i thing there is maple syrup. And the banana goes well with it.

Zuppa Soup 9/10 Honestly the pastry need more fluffy and flaky, but the mushroom soup was the best. We love the flavour (we forgot to take the picture).

Avogatto (9/10) Love it, they use real avocado and i asked to change the ice cream with chocolate one. Yum2x...

Overall the foods were great, will try other menu if we had a chace to go yo karawaci area again, unless the owner have plan to open another branch in central...
