HotLicks Aloha, PIK 2 — Restaurant in Kosambi

I decided to check this place out because it has such strong reviews. First off, it's quite pricey, we shared a Texas Plate and it was 800k before tax. The waiter told us it was enough for 3-4 people, but I think 3-4 children would have been more accurate. You could have squeezed 3 people out of it at a push but 800k to order at the till, self collect and sit on a bench seems a bit much to me. The meat was also very dry, dry ribs, very dry chicken (we ended up not eating it), but delicious brisket and sausage. The bread tasted pretty local, a bit too sweet for my liking. Nice spicy beans, coleslaw and potato salad but the sizes of each are too small for more than 1 person to share in my opinion. Overall I would say this place is so highly rated because it's very unique in Jakarta. I can't imagine it would get the same kind of reception in Bali where competition is much higher. We tried the brisket beef, and the meat is juicy & well-flavored. However the toast can be a little bit crispier on the edges to add some crunch

The hot sauce was spicy with strong savory flavor but you can mix it with the honey & jalapeno sauce which is not too spicy, so when mixed it will create a moderate amount of spicyness👍🏼👍🏼

Juiciest tender ribs, even typing this is making me salivate.

Came on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty.

Ordered Cajun fries, beef brisket burger, and of course ribs with coleslaw.

The ribs are made flavourful, juicy, tender, and falls off the bone omg

The beef burger was a bit dry, but something a bit of slaw and sauce can’t fix.

Came with side condiments of preserved onions and pickles.

Sat in the outdoor area in the sand and was a great experience!
