Warung Sate Hotplet Batu — Restaurant in Kota Batu

Been here twice and the foods never failed us. We were ordering leaned sate hot plate, kangkung, empal penyet ( probably that's what the name ) and tahu/tempe penyet this time. The sauce for the sate was really tasty, they gave a good amount of fresh red onion also. Kangkung also served in hot plate and they cooked it perfectly, just enough spices and not too spicy. Empal penyet also very tender but somehow I can tasted the sugar bit. Chili sauce also didn't disappoint us. This time we didn't order kambing because we sneaked in to order noodles from the next restaurant. We were asking the restaurant staff if we could ordered the noodles and the staff were kind enough to let us eat in their restaurant. The price also very reasonable. They have only small parking lot in front of the restaurant which only able to carry probably 3 to 5 cars. But we saw a big parking space in the next building and probably also able to take the customers car. Overall, we are very happy with the food, service and definitely will come back if we are visiting Batu again. Keep up the good...

Great place to have meat foods in hotplates. Hotplates refers to the black stone plate which they served food on top, and heated so that the meat stayed warm. Hotplates (local tongue: "hotplet") are used for skewered meat dishes.

Goat satay is good, the meat is tender and odorless while the liver is pretty solid. Chicken satay is good. Tried the kikil (tendon) soup which is a fragrant clear broth with soft tendon, it was great. Tried also the tongseng (meat in black soybean soup) which has a strong broth, charred taste and tasted very nice.

Drinks are pretty basic, not much to choose. I ordered the local hot tea (jasmine) which has aromatic smell and sweet aftertaste even if it has no sugar added.

Probably one of the best satay places in the Batu area. Lots of varieties to choose from as I posted here in the pictures, but the highlight is the Satay on a hot plate. This clever idea is so good since the best will stay warm and succulent. Friendly staff inside with plenty of seating locations and the outside too (parking staff). Price-wise is very affordable since this place will give you a hearty and fulfilling meal. This place is also famously visited by the national celebrities and governmental staff too.
