To start off I’m a white guy who came here with an Indonesian friend, and as we entered we were asked what seating arrangements we wanted. They mentioned 500k minimum order to sit at a table and I replied to them 500k for table? So I agreed and we spent a good 4 hours there. The live band was good and the atmosphere was pretty good.

After we finished I went to pay our bill and it came to about 560k, but the cashier was saying 1 million rp now, and I said why? And she said it’s 500k per person, not per table. I was pretty upset about this and asked them if they could give some leeway and allow us to pay just 560k but they said no. Considering there was clear miscommunication, I thought they would have been happy to let us off but they weren’t. I took the loss and agreed to pay 1 million for a 560k bill which was depressing, but here’s the thing, they didn’t even let me pay 1 million, they made me buy 2 bottles of soju which brought the bill to 1220k. I asked them why I can’t just pay the 1 million and they said taxes and service charge so it’s 1200k.

To sum it up, the atmosphere is good, but the drinks and service are appalling and expensive. There’s many bars around jakarta that don’t try to extort money out of you like this, while still maintaining a good atmosphere
