Honestly, I already had a number of setbacks here, particularly on the flavor which I feel a bit different (especially the soup) with other stores. I was utterly dissatisfied with the service this time.
I came in, took the food tray, but no person at all to take my service (and it was only 8pm). It took about half-a-minute for a male employee to appear from the kitchen. I requested for a value set, which he nodded of, and he continued taking the items till we got to the cashier but the ocha and soup, which were supposed to be part of the set, hadn't been given yet. I asked and he responded that value sets were no longer available in all HokBen. It's strange because I had the exact same menu set at another HokBen store just last week. Even more, I was really annoyed because he already gave me an ok when I ordered earlier, and just nonchalantly answered "Oh I forgot lol" when I implored him. What a rude way to serve your customer.
I do hope HokBen will take strict management on your staffs. I had never before displayed this attitude when having a meal. As there isn't a standalone HokBen store nearby, I have no alternative but to visit pretty frequently, thus I really hope this kind of service never happens anymore.

Also, for a place that opens the whole day and night, they have a pretty complete option of food when I visited at around 6 am.
Another note that you might want to consider, I ordered their shrimp dumpling (from two different places, not this franchise) and my alergic reaction to seafood was flaring up, so if you can't eat seafood, you might want to opt for another option like tofu or miso soup when you're craving for something warm.
But other than that, HokBen is always an easy and delicious...

The 2nd floor AC is not really working, the playground is dirty and not maintained well (there are broken bits and pieces) and there are food scattered on the floor. The food is meh to say the least. Ekados dry as hell, quail egg chewy, it's not fresh for sure. So are the other fried items. Ebi furai is just bits of shrimp, instead of 1 full shrimp. The saving grace is the miso blackpepper chicken, taste good. Now I remember why I stopped...
