Yes, we posted a lot of photos. Yes, we loved the food. This is our 2nd place in Bali where we have tried dim sum and it was such a pleasant experience. The Dim Sum is served everyday and is a la carte which isn’t a problem.

For us, we knew we had to try the staple hakao and pan fried radish cake. We also ended up ordering the wonton noodle soup, steamed bun with salted egg custard, fried shrimp rolled in bean curd (outstanding), fried calamari (didn’t look like the picture), and beef tripe which was surprisingly delicious.

The service was speedy and the food came out quite quickly and hot which was appreciated.

Everyone was seated far apart which was great for covid even though we were in the AC.

The only complaint we have is the the Hakao are quite small even though they are yummy and the calamari mentioned before. The price is also more expensive then if you were to eat at a place not at a mall. Other than that we were happy with everything else.

We hope to come back and try other items...

Strategic restaurant located on level 2 in Sidewalk Jimbaran Mall.

We have been a loyal customer for this restaurant and almost everytime we were in Jimbaran area, we will stop by to have a meal here.

Live seafood, rice, noodle menu were always fresh and tasty, however Hong Kong style DimSum especially the chicken feet need to be improved. Vegetable portion lately were also getting smaller. The wonton skin used to be thinner and softer with tender juicy meat. Squid salt and pepper was thickly breaded and soggy, not crispy as usual.

Also their service and product knowledge can be annoyingly slow. Could be the reason of insufficient staff running around on the floor.

Since this is one of our favorite restaurant, we hope this review will be useful for management to improve the taste/portion of...

OK food and very bad staff!

We wanted to order dim sum and it was sold out. When I asked what else sold out, the waiter said that’s it. Then we ordered seafood rice noodle then he said it was also sold out. Good restaurant doesn’t communicate like that.

The waiter did not write the order at all. After we were done with the order, 5 minutes later he asked again what we ordered. He DID NOT listen to what we ordered!

When the food was delivered, they gave us food we did not order and the waiter even pushed me to receive it and I rejected it. The appetizer came when the bill arrived. I rejected it and asked it to remove from the bill.

The waiter really needs to get more training and the floor manager (who did not exist that evening) should have been managing the restaurant.

I would not recommend...

We have been loyal customers of Wanaku at Sidewalk Jimbaran since its opening till now. We love most of their food and they never fail us. Their roasted duck is to die for and by far the best roasted duck we have ever had in Bali (so comparable to the one at The Duck King in Surabaya and Jakarta) their lingzhi mushroom beancurd, xiao long bao, chong fan, jelly fish, suan la soup and fried rice are highly recommended, as well as other dishes. They have great service and it has gotten much better since the new manager got in charge as she is very welcoming, helpful and hands on. There is no doubt that Wanaku has become our family's favorite Chinese Restaurant in Jimbaran and even Bali.
