Beware of Hidden Prices – A Rip-Off Experience!
I had an extremely disappointing experience in this restaurant. They don’t display prices on the menu, and I only found out how much I was being charged when I received the bill—and it was outrageous!
For two people, we were charged the following:
Fried Chicken (5 pcs) – 141,500 IDR
Chicken Skewers (10 pcs) – 90,000 IDR
Grilled Chicken (5 pcs) – 147,000 IDR
Chicken Soup (1 portion) – 28,000 IDR
Rice (2 portions) – 20,000 IDR
Pickled Vegetables (1 portion) – 15,000 IDR
Mineral Water (1 bottle) – 8,000 IDR
Fresh Juice (1 glass) – 36,000 IDR
Chocolate Cake (1 slice) – 70,000 IDR!!! (For one slice! Absolutely insane!)
The total price was ridiculously expensive for what we got. The food itself was nothing special, just average, and definitely not worth the price.
This is the first time I’ve ever felt ripped off in Indonesia, and it’s incredibly disappointing. This restaurant seems to intentionally hide their prices to overcharge unsuspecting customers. I would never return, and if you value transparency and fair pricing, stay away...
Read moreAt first glance, the fried chicken seems sweet (because of the brown-ish appearance) but surprisingly it’s not. They fry the chicken in some coconut water I assume. Their version of Sulawesi fried chicken is quite unique because the chicken not completely “fried” and it’s not crispy like you imagine fried chicken would be. Also even though it looks like the chicken is flavored well, the spices actually not that strong. Also because it’s a “ayam kampung” so the portions are small, order 2 pieces I suggest you do. I enjoyed it but nothing special though. The chicken satay though, so good. It’s full of the meat, no skin or other parts whatsoever. The taste is on the sweeter side. The price, honestly, overpriced. We ordered 8 pcs chicken, 2 chicken soups, 5 sticks of chicken satay, 3 drinks for 400 thousands rupiah. Overall, if you’re ever visiting Makassar, this is worth to try. Just need to dig deeper into your...

I tried their roasted chicken and chicken soup with white rice. The roasted chicken is soft and the seasoning is so good along with the sweet spicy sambal. The clear soup with steamed chicken, egg, carrot, potato, and green onions is comforting and suitable to accompany the rice and roasted chicken. No wonder that Ayam Goreng Sulawesi Ibu Tini is loved by many...
