Had time to spare before our boat ride to Gili T, so we decided to have breakfast here. Overall really enjoyed the food here but there is definitely room for improvement on their service.
The good: Ordered the breakfast combo for 100k. Simple choices, and on the menu it stated that it included fruit, tea/coffee, and water.
Ordered the fried noodles and we were surprised by how flavourful the dish was. Surprisingly the best mie goreng (fried noodle) I’ve had from Bali/NP so far. The noodles were perfectly cooked and it was the seasoned very well, perfect balance of sweet, spice and salt. It was served with a fried egg and pickled vegetables which also added to the dish. The shrimp crackers were a little stale but it didn’t take away from the entire dish. I finished this dish very satisfied with the meal.
The bad: When we were ordering, our server had to ask the kitchen multiple times to double check if they had something or if we could order the dish. For example, we order something the server asks the kitchen comes back with the answer we add to the order he goes again to ask, so on and so forth. He went back and forth three times while we were ordering. Fair enough if we were asking for crazy substitutions, but it felt like he didn’t know the (very simple) menu at all.
Another problem was with the breakfast combo, we asked about the fruit and water that it was supposed to come with as we hadn’t received them yet. Two servers clarified with their supervisor and returned saying “it was a choice between tea, coffee, fruit, or water.” We asked to see the menu because it very clearly stated that it includes fruit, water and a choice between tea/coffee.
When we finally showed them what the menu stated, our server showed her supervisor again and only then were we served the fruit and water. I’m grateful that they were able to make it right, but it felt like a lot of work to receive what was very clearly advertised on their menu.
I will attach a photo of the breakfast menu. It is simple, so I feel that everyone should know what it encompasses.
Again, the food itself was very good and I would give 5 stars for it. The other breakfast options looked incredible as well, as we saw them being handed out to other guests. A better understanding of the menu by the servers would elevate this experience tenfold. This is a decent place to have breakfast while waiting for your boat ride at...
Read moreAWESOME. I came with a group of 9 friends and we stayed one night. I unfortunately had food poisoning. They drove me to and from the hospital twice in one night for FREE, waited with me at the hospital room to help translate what the hospital was saying, bought me fever reducers at the store, gave me free toast and butter and brought it to my room with extra bottles of water free of charge, and checked on me periodically. The next day my friends went out to the beach and I waited at the hotel room and they gave me late checkout for free so I could rest until they came back, and brought breakfast to my room. And guess what? FREE. The guy (tikuh? Wrong spelling) said that we are like family and the guests are their main concern. Would DEFINITELY come back any time. We had kids stomping up above us and they moved our room no questions asked. Unreal! Excellent service!
Suk suma. You guys are keluarga!
