Amazing location. Stunning breathtaking views. Beautiful pool. Great food. Lovely staff. So peaceful. Went for early breakfast. Sunny and tranquil.
But the 'road' to get there isn't really a road, it's a rocky track, probably good for a mountain-bike. I went by moped/scooter. It was a fun ride, but challenging. If you're not an experienced rider, be careful. And definitely don't take a passenger on the back of your bike unless you're both very very experienced riders!
At the time of writing (June 2023) the hours on Google are also wrong. They open from about 8.30-sh. They close at 8pm.
Nasi goreng was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The American breakfast looks great value, but the micro-waved sausage is not good. the Aussie brekky comes with fruit instead of sausage. (if you are German, definitely don't order the sausage, you'll just cry!). Poached eggs were beautifully cooked.
The views over Nusa Penida are absolutely spectacular. If you are into Instagram (I am not) then this is a great location for you. They have the 'love seat' cantilevered over a steep hillside, the rickety walkway is home-made of bamboo tied with string , so you can get the classic video of your frightened girlfriend/boyfriend whimpering as they edge their way out to the love-seat 🙄. They also have a double insta-swing. Even without the Instagram toys, this place is stunningly beautiful and so tranquil. Highly highly recommended. If you're not a good...
Read moreWe started with fried calamari. Crunchy, golden, and perfectly fine. The fries it came with were clearly straight out of the freezer, crinkle cut nostalgia, not culinary genius. The ketchup sambal mix did its best impression of a supporting actor, but could not quite steal the scene.
Seafood curry followed, light and mild, exactly what the name promised and nothing more. Tasty enough, but about as memorable as a weather forecast.
The seafood mixed grill was the real headliner. Tuna, squid, and shrimp still rocking their skeletons, though they were so big you could peel them easily with just a fork and knife, which felt oddly satisfying. The flavors were spot on, smoky and satisfying, but then the rice showed up lukewarm and sticky, like it had been abandoned in the kitchen hours earlier.
Then came the gado gado, which honestly stole the whole show. Fresh veggies, tofu, egg, all buried under peanut sauce so nutty it deserves its own reality TV series. Balanced, rich, and nothing to complain about.
And finally, the view. Perched on a cliff, staring out at the ocean, the scenery is the real star here. The food bounces between good and forgettable, but that panorama forgives every flaw. Even the crinkle fries and...
Read moreThis is located slightly uphill on the ceningan island. You need to have a bike to reach there. There are ample hoardings and sign marks put all over the route. Make sure you don't ride in dark as the route has two three steep patches which could be dangerous in night. The place itself is one hell of a beauty which you don't come across easily. The views of Nusa penida island are nothing short of breathtaking parted by the blue waters below. You can see major snorkeling point like Gamat Bay, Crystal Beach right across. You can calm and heal your soul such is the magic of this please. Early Evening/morning is the best time to visit. Food is good, drinks are available. Place has a few hammocks, swings and a raised wooden platform to click selfies, what more you need in such a...
