Absolutely Shocking Experience at Kelingking Bar and Restaurant, Nusa Penida My recent visit to Kelingking Bar and Restaurant in Nusa Penida was, without a doubt, one of the most appalling dining experiences I've ever had. This place is an absolute disgrace, and I want to warn other travelers: it is absolutely not worth the price nor the visit. The issues began immediately and snowballed from there, showcasing a complete failure in basic restaurant operations. Cold Food and Pathetic Service When our food finally arrived, it was stone-cold. This is inexcusable for any restaurant, especially one charging tourist prices. The most shocking moment came when I complained. The waitress's response was nothing short of pathetic: she offered to "heat it up for you." Seriously? When a dish is delivered cold due to kitchen incompetence, the only acceptable response is a genuine apology and a promise to make a fresh, new dish immediately. Offering to microwave old food is an insult to the customer and a clear sign of a kitchen that simply doesn't care about quality. Incompetent Kitchen Operations The cold food was compounded by an unbelievably poor serving rhythm. There were only five other couples in the restaurant, yet the kitchen couldn't manage to serve two dishes at the same time. Our meals were delivered 10 minutes apart, meaning one of us had to awkwardly watch the other eat, or risk letting their own dish get even colder. Meanwhile, everyone else's food seemed to come out perfectly in sync. This level of incompetency from the chef and kitchen staff is astounding. The Five-Star Review Scam To top it all off, the restaurant has a completely deceptive practice for inflating its ratings. They actively try to manipulate customers into leaving positive feedback by offering a "free drink if you leave a 5-star review." This explains the bafflingly high rating this establishment seems to have online. Do not be fooled—these reviews are bought, not earned. In summary, Kelingking Bar and Restaurant is a classic tourist trap with terrible service, incompetent kitchen staff, cold food, and a dishonest attempt to solicit fake 5-star reviews. Save your money and your appetite, and go...
Read moreI don't know why there are so many bad reviews here. As a travel agent, I prefer to take my customers to have lunch here, because their food and services are much better compared with other restaurants that we tried before.
For many years we have been coming to Nusa Penida, and we have always moved places just to find good food with good services. Once we found this place, we just decided to come here for lunch if we were visiting the west area.
Their owner formerly worked on a cruise, and his hospitality is above and beyond, he trained his employees well. So they can serve better.
My favourite food was Nasi Campur, Fried rice, Soto Ayam. I always have that every time I come here. And my guests also never complained regarding the food and services. Maybe because I always follow my guests and explain everything first before I leave them to enjoy their food. So they were always happy.
About the price, I think they have a fair price, as we know that all the raw material is coming from the main Bali Island.
Thank you so much, and we will definitely...

During the day, the place is bustling with visitors thanks to its close proximity to the famous T-Rex viewpoint—but by night, it transforms into a tranquil spot perfect for a relaxed dinner.
The food here is genuinely amazing. I tried the smoothie bowl topped with fresh banana, strawberries, granola, and chia seeds—it was refreshing and beautifully presented. Their traditional Indonesian platter was equally satisfying, served with satay sticks, flavorful sambal, rice, greens, and a side of soup. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.
Overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re in the Kelingking Beach area—great food, peaceful vibes, and very welcoming staff. Would...
