Warung The Sorent — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

We stayed overnight in the area and had 2 lunch meals in this warung - with very contrasting experience! Day1 - sato ayam soup was excellent, very tasty, fresh ingradients and proper quantity. Nasi campur was quite good also. Day 2 - we hoped for same good lunch but it turned out not quite. For starter Thai Mango salad. Well, there was a mango in it, but nothing to do with the real thai mango salad. Mango was few small slices, too soft and sweet (covered by chili sause). Under mango they put plain tasteless rice noodles (?) and few green salad leaves... Not good, very wrong taste and definately not thai salad. Fish soup was worse. Fish was not cleaned properly (all covered by scales). It Came in a tiny boul with boiled 3 slices of small cucamber and half tomoto. The quantity of soup probably 150ml only - twice less than for sato ayam soup. The prices are not reasonable at all. 4-5usd for very average local meals is a rip off. At least they should not only have their gread but to cook well.

Very boring, uninspired and bland tasting food. The three of us had very mediocre meals all around: the fried shrimp bowl barely tasted of anything, the mango smoothie bowl didn’t taste fresh and the onion rings weren’t even soft on the inside. The drink I had (sorent punch) tasted watery and barely had the fruity flavours I expected. While the view is nice there were a lot of flies which were annoying to deal with. Considering it was 420k for all of us it was by far the worst meal I’ve had in Bali. Definitely a tourist trap as well. Service was alright and...

I came here yesterday for lunch with a group of friends and I can admit, everything tasted so so good! We tried the fried rice, smoothie bowl, butter chicken rice, BLT sandwich and the ice cream and brownie was also very very delicious 🤩 the view from the restaurant was also stunning, I have to share some photos to show you. The staff were super friendly and accommodating as well, thank you to Wayan (the guy in the pic below) for taking care of us and checking with us on our food. I’d definitely recommend anyone looking for food to come try here...
