Pempek 888 Taman Kenten Cabang Central Pavilion Dempo — Restaurant in Palembang

Pempek 888 located in Kenten area in Palembang, is one of the most complete eateries in Palembang that serve the local food such as pempek, model, and the likes … This is definitely my favorite Pempek eatery in Palembang. The restaurant has just opened a branch (in November 2018) in the city center, which is easier to reach and the eatery also has better ambience. I was very keen to try it and the food did not disappoint, but unfortunately since the place is still very new (so are the staff), the service quality was relatively poor.

[April 2022] Visited this eatery again in early April when the Omicron wave has more or less subsided. The place was about 90% full. Perhaps the owner did not anticipate such a sudden spike in demand. It was severely under-staff or the very least many inexperienced staff. The service was horrible; one of our orders only served after three or more reminders and it was more...

Nice place, free parking, and the pempek taste good! They have option of pempek made from "ikan kutak" or "ikan belida". Reccomend for "ikan belida" taste better but the rate is higher too tho..

Otak otak taste a bit weird for me since it was too big, there is no burnt taste and the texture looks like a sausage instead

The problem here is, they run out of quite a few of food and drinks in the menu, and the waitress should've told us in the beginning what is gone and what is available so we didn't waste quite a lot of time...
