Warm and cozy restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. They have smoking and non-smoking areas. All the dishes I ordered were very good. Ordered the minestrone soup, beef oxtail bourguignon, snow white dome cake, strawberry mint tea, and lychee peach drink. The complimentary bread and butter was very nice...warm fresh slices of bread with a side of butter topped with a touch of oregano. It was kinda strange to receive the desert first but it was very good. It was not made in house but was sweet and tasty...it's hard to describe the flavors as this was very new to me. The Snow White dome cake was covered with a thin layer of fondant that had a light sprinkle of coconut shavings. Tucked inside was a fluffy white cake covered in a sweet vanilla cream filling. The drinks were also very good...very fruity and not watered down. The minestrone soup was served hot inside a bowl covered with puff pastry...very nice! The soup was nice and thick. The vegetables were firm but micro minced...new to me but worked well in this variation. The use of bits of angel hair pasta in place of shells was also a nice "Asian" touch. The oxtail dish was decent. The meat wasn't as tender as I'd like but some may prefer the cartilage with a little more bite. The sauce was spot on despite being non-alcoholic. Vegetables were cooked well but not fork tender.
This is one of the best restaurants in Pekanbaru for Western cuisine, in my opinion. Looking forward to trying their other dishes.
*Update. The carbonara is VERY good...the closest you'll ever get to Italy in Pekanbaru, and the best I've had in town...no pancetta but this dish still retains the right consistency, if not taste...the cheese brittle was an excellent touch. The ocean curry is also very tasty. A light curry sauce with a bit of heat and perfectly prepared greens and veggies. My only complaint was the salmon being slightly well done. The roasted chicken Caesar salad was excellent... nice and tender greens, flavorful slits of parmigiana and micro cherry tomatoes, capers and beef bacon to kick it up a notch. The REAL disappointment today is being served what tasted like day-old bread...cold, hard, and dry...just not what I expected from...

Read moreThe place is romantic, very suitable for having dinner with loved ones, and the decoration is great. But, the taste for the food is just so so, not worth the price. The rica-rica spaghetti was very spicy, I almost couldn’t handle it. The tea was plain—almost tasted like no sugar in it. Then, I booked by WA and the response was quite slow and the information given about the menu was different from what’s posted in...
