Booked a tour through Explore Komodo and this was their head office - it was an absolute shambles!
From start to finish it was terribly organised, we were asked to be at the port for 8 in Gili T and our boat didnât take off until 9:30. We then spent most of the morning waiting in your office to take off? It was such a waste of time.
Then we set off to drive to the boat which no one gave us any instruction on which took the best part of 4 hours. On the way we stopped for âlunchâ which was supposed to be noodles but were fed nothing - so we didnât end up being fed until 6pm that evening.
In terms of the tour itself, at no point were we given any instruction by any of the crew on what the plan was for the day, how long we were sailing for and how long we had at each activity.
The main guy, Sunny, was rude, unhelpful and was constantly rushing us at stops even though we were constantly late due to the boat breaking down - the boat was quite clearly not fit to run.
We arrived at Komodo island on the 3rd day that late it was closed??? how does that even happen and how do they not know it closes at a specific time - it was the biggest waste of a day!
Amongst the other hygiene issues on the boat, and the general safety on the boat, on the final day we had no water in any of the toilets or bathrooms - this again was ridiculous and also dirty!
We didnât end up doing half the last day activities as we were so behind schedule and although we got to see komodo island we were again rushed around by Sunny.
I doubt that this is the only complaint they will be receiving as everyone on the boat felt the same.

Read moreWe wanted to take the standard ferry from Gili T. to Lombok Bangsal for 85k RP per person and subsequently take a grab from bangsal to our hotel in Senggigi . This would have costed 2x85k + 140k = 310k total. A guy near the terminal offered us a direct boat ride which only takes 20 mins compared to 45 mins (normal ferry) + private drive to our hotel upon arrival in Lombok for 150k RP per person. we did not know the cost of the grab back then and we accepted cos it was not a bad deal. We waited around 15 mins at the pier for the boat. The boat ride was okay. Afterwards we were told to walk from the pier in Lombok 5 mins to the Lombok cafe office - no problem. But there we waited like 1 1/2 hours for our transfer to the hotel in the not well climated cafe. Back on Gili T we were told that we would be picked up immediately after the boat ride. Retrospectively we would not have done that again. Whatâs the use of having a faster boat ride if you still arrive at the hotel later than with the...
Read moreDo NOT go on the Komodo trip with the company checking in at Lombok Coffe & Homestay.
They are cowboys; they organized a trip when they knew the weather was tricky in rainy season but did it anyway. Apparently, it wasnât even legal for boats sailing in the komodo area. Moreover, they kept lying about sending a forgotten suitcase of an older couple to labuan bajo, which they didnât in the end, & the couple only found out a day after the trip.
There are more honest companies out there, that openly communicate about weather conditions and safety, and donât lie to their customers.
Guys from the company; if you want honest feedback, feel free to message me. Iâd love to help improve...
