Expat Coffee Delivers Excellence

As an avid coffee enthusiast constantly seeking that perfect cup, discovering Expat Coffee was nothing short of a revelation. Nestled within the bustling streets of Seminyak Bali this gem of a coffee shop transcends the ordinary, offering a sensory journey that surpasses expectations.

From the moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that exuded warmth and hospitality. The aroma of freshly ground beans filled the air, inviting me to indulge in a moment of pure caffeinated bliss. The decor, reminiscent of a quaint European cafƩ, provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation or productivity, depending on the mood.

But it was the coffee itself that truly stole the show. Each sip was a symphony of flavors, carefully crafted to perfection. Whether indulging in a robust espresso or savoring the velvety smoothness of a latte, every cup delivered an unparalleled experience. The beans, sourced from Indonesia, showcased the artistry and dedication of the ExPat roasters.

What sets Expat Coffee apart is not just the quality of their beverages, but the passion behind them. The baristas, true artisans of their craft, approach each creation with meticulous care and attention to detail. Their expertise shines through in every pour, ensuring consistency and excellence with every cup.

Beyond the coffee itself, Expat Coffee fosters a sense of community that is both inviting and inclusive. Whether you're a local resident or a weary traveler seeking refuge from the hustle and bustle of bali life, you're welcomed with open arms. Conversations flow freely, friendships are forged, and memories are made over shared moments of caffeinated delight.

In a world saturated with coffee chains and generic brews, Expat Coffee stands out as a beacon of authenticity and quality. It's not just a place to grab your morning fix; it's a destination worth savoring, time and time again. For anyone in search of the best coffee they've ever tasted, look no further than Expat Coffee. It's an experience that transcends borders and leaves a lasting impression on both...

Finally made it to Expat Roasters and it was not merely disappointing but some of the worst coffee we’ve had on the island. Photo: Long Black and a oatmilk Cortado.

Two sips of the long black to confirm that yup tastes like rust water, smells like burnt coffee oil, no body or mid-palate whatsoever. Left it on the table.

The cortado at least masked by the oatmilk made the cuppa somewhat bearable but my wife couldn’t finish it because it was just so bad.

When we paid, i was asked how was our coffee and I said very clearly that it was ā€œnot goodā€ and the guy proceeded to ring me up with a smile — ok then. I’m pretty sure a senior staff sitting behind the cashier heard me, looked at me a bit side-eyed, and also did not say anything as we left.

Expat has the branding down with neat packaging and all but they forgot how to pull a decent shot or hear their customers.

Much better coffee almost anywhere on the island and cheaper too.

For coffee nerds: no comment on the beans since I didn’t see them but definitely the darker side of dark roast. Shots poorly extracted,...

Mellow and smooth flat white to start your day. I tried other coffee shops around the area and Expat was the only one that delivered we ended up patroning everyday during our stay. When given choices whether you want the strong (Patria) or medium blend (Nomad), I found that Patria was mellow and went really well in lattes or cappuccino, while Nomad was slightly more acidic. Bought their Nespresso capsules to try at home as well, and while it was good, but it was closer to V60 result than espresso in my opinion. Alas, it's still enjoyable. Service was excellent, the baristas were all accommodative and communicative. And oh, to my surprise, pastries are not only second thought here. Other roasters can learn from Expat when it comes to pastry. Croissants are perfectly flaky, and they also serve generous amount of condiments should you order something other than plain croissant. Five stars.
