Review of Nostimo Greek Taverna Nestled in Seminyak, Bali’s lively core, Nostimo Greek Taverna is a gem that transports you to the Mediterranean with vibrant flavors, relaxed charm, and warm hospitality. My recent dinner here was a highlight, and I’m excited to share why Nostimo is a must for Greek cuisine fans. With its very nice staff, good food, excellent meat, and exceptional customer service, it blends Seminyak’s chill vibe with authentic Greek soul. The staff’s warmth greeted me instantly, their genuine smiles making me feel like a regular. They led me to a casual wooden table with a wildflower vase and tealight, set in an open-air space where bouzouki tunes mixed with tropical breezes. Walls painted in Aegean blues created a cozy, lively feel, and the staff’s attentiveness was seamless—friendly, never overbearing. The menu delivered Greek classics with heart. I kicked off with hummus, creamy and garlicky, paired with warm, crisp pita—a scoopable delight. The meat platter was a stunner, proving Nostimo’s reputation for excellent meat. Juicy lamb chops, tender pork gyro, and charred beef burst with smoky, herbed flavor. The skewers—lamb and chicken—were succulent, with a rosemary hint. My side of chicken, golden and moist, let the meat shine, while the pork gyro wrap, packed with lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki, was a savory, messy treat. Every dish was fresh, bold, and balanced. Nostimo’s customer service elevated the experience. The staff’s care was instinctive, always with a smile. A slight delay with the wrap came with a warm apology and complimentary loukoumades—fluffy, honey-drizzled doughnuts that were pure joy. These gestures made the night feel personal and special. Nostimo Greek Taverna is a triumph. The very nice staff, good food, excellent meat—hummus, platter, skewers, chicken, wrap—and outstanding service create a dining experience that’s comforting and delicious. Whether you’re a local or exploring Bali, Nostimo’s casual Greek charm will win you over. I’m already dreaming of my next visit, and I’m sure you’ll be hooked...
Read moreGotta love Zomato. When it comes to finding well rated cafes and restaurants nearby, it’s a winner! Popped in here for a late dinner around 10:00pm, and even though it was a Friday night, there were still a good number of tables available, and the place had the happy buzz of customers enjoying themselves. Surprisingly, I can’t remember eating Greek before tonight! The menu at Nostimo’s looked pretty comprehensive with lots of inviting options. The service was standard good and typically Balinese - quick, friendly and impersonal, with the exception of the owner, Sam, who is often mentioned in other reviews. He checked several times to ensure all was well, and greeted and farewelled all customers, some of whom were clearly regulars or friends, based on the farewell hugs. That’s a welcome sight these days. With so many tempting options, I chose the Mixed Grill Platter for 1, which offered a range of 4 meats (chicken and pork kebabs, shaved lamb(?), and a beef mince kofta). They were all very tasty, with the flavours of their marinades coming through nicely. The pork kebab was wonderfully juicy and delicious! This platter also included soft pita bread, a tatziki dip, small side of hand cut fries with homemade seasoning, and a fresh green salad. I love the Bintang Radlers here in Bali, and was pleased to see a lemon radler on offer for 35k. While waiting for dinner, complimentary welcome bread is served, and the balsamic/olive oil dip that accompanied it was fabulous. A casual, friendly vibe, with typical Greek tunes in the background sets the scene for a relaxed time, with great cuisine to match. Well done to the team at Nostimo, who also have an outlet in Ubud, if you’re up that way. Cost for mixed grill and radler = Rp184,800 incl GST + 5%...
Read moreHidden service charge! Menu contains one price but they charge 15% more. Besides that, good food and welcoming staff.

Edit (after the second reply):
I might have mistaken about the warning on one side of the menu. But I don't come to restaurants to thoroughly study the menu. I wasn't notified that I'll be charged extra by the staff either.
It's good you separate taxes, but many places also do it while writing the final price, mentioning "Including 10% tax" and also providing the tax separation on the bill. It's just a bad experience to be charged more at the end of the dinner. Unfortunately it's quite common in...
