I’m a bit in 2 minds about the number of stars to give for this review, I’ll explain why: Food - 4/5 - the food is tasty, but quite expensive (understandable given the size of the cafe, the location, and the need to be seen as an upmarket/ high class establishment) Service - 3/5 - the waiters and waitresses were friendly, but they are not fully across the food yet (could be because they were still relatively new). For example, when we asked if the seafood pasta was spicy or not (because our kids wanted it), and they said it’s not, even though the menu did say spicy garlic sauce. Sure enough it turns out to be spicy (due to the chilli flakes as part of the sauce). We had to order a 2nd one asking it to be non-spicy and the waitress wasn’t sure if it can be done or not (which it can, but just a warning for others, there were still traces of chilli flakes, so very mild spiciness). Also they didn’t tell us one of the coffee wasn’t available (more on this below), and we were only told when we asked where’s our other coffee. Atmosphere - 2/5 - Don’t get me wrong, the cafe, the ambience and the view is incredible, but the 2 star rating is really driven by 2 major issues: there were a lot of flies in the cafe (I’m sure it’s because of the area, so not specific to just this cafe, but they were very unpleasant and annoying, one fly even decided to take a bath in our kid’s hot chocolate. The 2nd major issue is with people smoking inside the air conditioned area, not just outside. It made the area smelling of cigarettes and really destroyed the enjoyment of non-smoking people and families. Food availability - 1/5 - They ran out of Lawar Octopus (this is around 12:30 pm, peak of lunch time), but whilst this is understandable, they also ran out of all their cold brew coffee, which is supposedly their specialties. We managed to get the last one (rose flavour), but they didn’t even mention they already ran out of them when we ordered them (the other one is strawberry). For an item of their specialty, one would usually expect them to be well stocked. It could be they have an unexpected number of patrons, or they chose not to stock a lot so they don’t have left overs. In summary (3/5), great potential, but let down by the food & drinks availability, the flies, and...

Read moreI've been here twice, the first time we couldn't fault it, the caramelo coffee was divine, absolutely delicious. And the food, although expensive was really nice, I had the soft crab salad and my wife had the tomato soup. We came during the week so it wasn't busy, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The weather was great and overall we had the perfect time. The second time was not as good. We came on a Sunday and as expected it was very busy and the staff had no time for pleasantries and the smiles seemed forced. After ordering our drinks, hot chocolate for my wife and a caramelo for me, we were informed the cafe only had oat milk, so we said OK and ordered the four cheese pizza as well. Unfortunately the caramelo was not good, bland and weak, it had lost the rich velvet texture of the coffee made with full regular milk the same can be said for the hot chocolate, watery and no creamy velvet texture. The pizza was not good either, what a bolognese sauce covered the base with congealed cheese on top, personally a cheese pizza shouldn't have a tomato sauce base, it takes the flavours away from the cheese topping. Just my opinion. So all in all a disappointment. What can be taken away from this. Come during the week and if they only have oat milk for the drinks, decline and order something that doesn't need milk. Expect expensive food. You're paying for the location. If you want proper Indonesian food, go to a local warung in Ubud, cheap and...
