After being in Bali for weeks, I'm tired of Indonesian food. The spices upset my stomach. I spent the first week and a half here with diarrhea in fact. The spices in use taste too similar in the rice and noodles and at this point I try to avoid them.
The food here I encountered included fried rice, noodles, chicken sticks, Bali style chicken sticks, fruit, small water bottles, tea, vegetables and a few other sides. There was a buffet style eating setup. If you want soda or other drinks, there's a menu, but you need to pay extra.
The food is AVERAGE for the area (and the country). Nothing stands out. It's a basic lunch for the most part, but I must say that even my hotel offers every single thing they had on the menu FOR BREAKFAST.
The real attraction to this place is the overwatch it has of the volcanic mountains nearby and the caldera that was formed. It's high, it's beutiful and great for photos and video.
But there is one MAJOR PROBLEM THAT MUST BE DEALT WITH.
FLIES.
From the time I entered till the time I left there was a nonstop barrage of flies. They were EVERYWHERE. On the food. Waiting to be on the food. Flying around. On my drink. On my food. Waiting to be on my food. It was absolutely ridiculous. They need to use some sort of repellent or trap to stop them because it absolutely RUINS the experience. The entire time I felt like something was crawling on me - or about to crawl on me.
I hope management sees this review and does...
Read moreThere are two options here: You can order ala carte or take the buffet. I ordered food ala carte, but eventually I saw the waitress just taking the food from the buffet onto a plate and serving it that way. I first ordered fried chicken, and it was immediately explained to me that this“fried chicken“ was not fried chicken, but simply normal chicken. Makes you wonder why it is so misleadingly listed on the map?! Alternatively, I ordered chicken satay with rice. Shortly after my table neighbors had all been served their food, the waitress suddenly said that it was nothing left either. Then I just ordered a few French fries because I didn't like the rest of the menu, which was already very minimalistic. My neighbor's rice and my fries, which for some reason were all served separately, were warm and edible. The rest of the food that was served was quite bland and nothing special. My conclusion: Food was basically bad. I would only go for a drink there, I wouldn't recommend anything else to anyone as the food was very...
Read moreIn early 2022, I visited Batur Sari Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the diverse selection of dishes on offer. The buffet spread included a wide range of international cuisines, including Indonesian, Chinese, and Western options. The food was all freshly prepared and tasted delicious. It's worth noting that they also have a menu available with a la carte options, but the buffet package is actually a better deal in terms of price.
The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating available. One of the standout features of the restaurant is the balcony section, which offers stunning views of the Batur Mountain. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Batur Sari Restaurant for anyone looking to try a variety of delicious dishes in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with the added bonus of beautiful...
