Tegukopi — Restaurant in Bali

I've been here several times, and it was an okay experience. But today was a totally different story. It was ruined by how unprofessional the staff was. Nobody came to help us to find a table (most of the tables were taken and reserved). We were standing and walking back and forth, trying to find a table. The staff member pretended they didn't hear me calling. We waited almost 10 minutes to be seated. We waited 3 minutes to get the menu, and we waited 30 minutes to get drinks. We both tried the buffet, and it cost us 150k IDR per person. Not so many choices, everything was served cold, except the soups. I took several things but i didn't finish my food because it didn't taste good at all and the Mie goreng was really cold, beef were also cold, they should do something to maintain the warmth for all the foods. We paid a total of 432k IDR. Which is we are okay IF it's a good food and good experience. That's not it. Since we didn't get the drink, we decided to just ask for the bill and get a drink somewhere else, and the drinks came a minute later. Like, imagine how thirsty you are eating something spicy without a drink! And the bill also came a FEW second after the drink, how fast was that when it come to MONEY and we also got escorts to the cashier. Like, WHERE IS THIS GUY COMING FROM ? WHEN WE NEED SOMEONE TO HELP US NOBODY BOTHER TO COME. I understand if it's busy, but helooooo pretending didn't hear your customers when they are literally in front of you ? Come on now! That's...

Three of us ordered the beef steak and salad for about Rp 45k. They told us it would take a while to prepare. No problem I said. Actually, they were reasonably fast, but when I saw the size of the steak I nearly died. I’m guessing about 5-10 cm2. It was cooked right, but a bit chewy since they used a cheap cut. There was a thin schmear of possibly mashed potato with no taste wiped across in faux Masterchef style. The mixed but colorful salad used a sickly sweet dressing with no balsamic acidity or olive oil. The whole meal was the size of an appetizer. AVOID THIS MEAL! The fish that others ordered looked ok, but who knows?

Worst were the literally 1000s (no exaggeration!) of flies hovering around and landing on the food. I spent 90% of my time trying vainly to shoo them away. Some were bold and just sat on the food anyway. Most flies I’ve ever seen at a restaurant! Gross! Lovely mountain view and view of Bangli that unfortunately still left me hungry afterwards. Please manager: label this meal an appetizer! And find a way to kill those...

the place has à great view direcy toward the mountain. also open very early in the morning for those who are chasing sunrise. staff was nice and helpful.

But the food was terrible and my 1star goes for them. they have menu with english muffin, turns out it was just à regular burger bun with à very sweet beef. the ramen was plain and taste so cheap, (definitely using a cheap spaghetti and toppings for the noodle) while it cost you more than 70k. also they put the katsu right on the soup and make it soaked and turned jiggly, you won't like the wet flour taste.

the worst was the teriyaki beef rice bowl, there was no beef, instead, they sliced the thin burger ham and cooked it with only à little pepper I believe, since there was no even a drop of thick sauce on it. obviously need an improvement for that. this place might cost you less than other place, but it would be wasted anyway.

My advice would be better just order à coffee while you're here. spending 350K+ for food...
