UMAH - Cemagi — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

This is hands down my new favorite warung. Staying nearby and finding this has been so great! Fresh and easy and so delicious. Love that they are palm oil and MSG free with a focus on good quality ingredients. It really shows. Would happily eat here everyday!! The staff are also incredibly kind.

My partner loves it too, his only sadness was that they were sold out of their eggs (clearly a crowd favourite) because he loved them so much and was really looking forward to eating them haha. We will be back again...

When this place opened 6 months ago, I was excited, thinking that this will be my go-to ‘warung’ since it’s only a few meters away from my villa. Well, I was dead wrong. The food was consistently bland, and as other reviewers mentioned, the portion size didn’t justify the price at all. Omitting MSG doesn’t mean the food can’t be flavorful. Local food doesn’t necessarily have to be cheap, but when ‘warung-style’ Indonesian food costs as much as the Italian restaurant down the road, it feels...

Finally the warung we’ve all been waiting for. Wholesome, traditional without any of the nasties. Back to basics. In case you didn’t know, UMAH is free of all additives (msg etc) and doesn’t use Palm Oil. Highly recommend the Soto ayam, honey mint lime cooler & the urap timun.
