This is used to be hidden gem for me. But it looks like it has gained its regulars. No surprise there, the couple owner runs the restaurant with their heart and passion. The food quality served are consistently good and taste amazing. The restaurant is clean (you can tell from the restroom). And the ambience they try to create is perfect. The fried mini lobster is a definite must-try. And ask for their house special chicken/fish curry. It is not the regular chicken/fish curry you would expect but this is their special house recipe. You can compliment with other menu and you will see the consistent in their cooking quality. Just make a reservation in advance for their mini lobster as their quantity vary depends on the local supplier. (1kg is about 10-15 mini lobster)

My whole family went there during a heavy downpour in Dec 2018 (Sorry it took so long to do this review but I promised I would do it). Staff was helpful enough to use umbrella to walk us from our car to the restaurant one by one. We enjoyed the environment and food a lot. We especially loved the taste of the fried rice. Owner Mr. Leo was kind enough to share with us how to cook the fried rice and gave us a packet of seasoning to try. THANK YOU VERY MUCH and hope to see you again one day. Lee Family

Following the good reviews on Google, we went to Leo's restaurant. So far, in Indonesia, we were surprised by Asian, fresh and well-spiced cuisine. Today, our taste buds collided with average dishes. The grilled fish was dry. The second fish in sweet and sour sauce was simply tasteless. The sauce tasted like it was ready from a jar. In addition, there was a salad that tastes and looks like coleslaw. Maybe this is what local cuisine looks like. It did not suit our taste.

For the past 10 years, this family-run restaurant has been my absolute favorite, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently outstanding, with the BBQ and lake lobster being the stars of the menu. The BBQ is rich, smoky, and perfectly tender, while the lake lobster is always fresh, sweet, and expertly prepared, offering a unique and unforgettable flavor.

What truly sets this place apart is the warm, inviting atmosphere created by the family that runs it. They are genuinely kind and attentive, making every guest feel like part of their extended family. Their passion for great food and hospitality shines through in every detail.

Whether you’re enjoying a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion, this restaurant delivers excellence every time. After a decade of visits, I can confidently say I’ve never had a bad meal. For anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience, this is the...

We had the most incredible experience with Leo’s Restaurant in TukTuk — not just for the food, but for the unforgettable tour we booked through Obby and Renhard, the owner. Renhard was our guide, and he is truly one of the kindest, most humble people we’ve ever met. His deep knowledge of Samosir, combined with his warm personality and great sense of humor, made the entire day so special.

Exploring the island with him felt more like spending time with a friend than being on a tour. Because of their hospitality and genuine kindness, we felt completely at home. We couldn’t have imagined a better way to discover the culture, history, and beauty of this place.

If you’re looking for a real, meaningful experience with insider knowledge and heartfelt connection, don’t hesitate to book a tour with them. Thank you so much, Renhard and team — we’ll...
