Chung Gi Wa — Restaurant in Semarang

My family went here to celebrate my college graduation. We ordered some pork and beef cut and some side dishes like tangy soups and omelette. The taste is not exceptional, but it was sure offering a new horizon about authentic Korean cuisine. The beef/pork cut was sweet and tender, and it's advisable to order more than three portion if you want to enjoy it until your satisfaction. Also you can enjoy true Korean bbq experience in here since they grill the meat directly in front of you on the build in table grill. The staff was friendly, they grill the meat for you and you can ask how you like the beef to be grilled. Vast parking lot. Clean and wide bathroom. The interior was somehow cramped because of the huge and heavy dining furniture and the lighting was a bit lacking, so I suggest to look for well lit table at the back. My favorite korean restaurant in Semarang. The place is really cozy and is very similar to the restaurant in Korea. The taste of the food is very original. The side dishes is free and is very tasty. It is varied and can be different each day. I love the kimchi, the jeon (pancake), the radish and kelp thing, the roasted nuts and the salad. The taste of the garlic after we grill it is really nice. I love it.

The price is quite high due to the premium ingredients (pork and beef) but still it is worth it. The portion is also quite big. We can also get the service from the staffs. They usually offer helps to grill our foods.

If it costs more than 300k, we can get free Odeng which is very tasty and has a rich taste. Sometimes, we get free watermelons too!

The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with a solid selection of pork dishes and classic Korean BBQ offerings. Just like other Korean BBQ spots, they serve the meal with a generous variety of side dishes—which really completes the experience. You can also ask the staff to grill the meat for you, which adds to the comfort and service.
