Makabana Bistro — Restaurant in Semarang

A cozy place with lousy service. Came to the cashier to order and I did not hear any greetings. Ordered one babyccino, one cappuccino, one japanese beef curry, and one aglio alio without cheese on top (mentioned it twice!). Babyccino came as chocolate milk (usually its a glass of foamy fresh milk with just cocoa powder on top), okay, maybe they have their own style of babyccino, so I ordered another babyccino without chocolate, my second babyccino came too sweet (with vanilla or caramel taste), I did not stop there, I came to the bar and asked what was wrong with their babyccinos and finally instruced the barista to make me a normal babyccino that I know (I ordered 3 babyccinos in total🤦🏽‍♀️). My aglio alio came with cheese :( the waitress did not even bother to say sorry, she just came over with a little bit of attitude and asked me whether i wanted to change it. The cappuccino was alright and the japanese beef curry tasted more like a japanese beef teriyaki :( All bad things aside, my aglio was tasteful enough and the place was nice.

I love the warm interior design, though they put some chairs that seem too low for the tables. They serve good food. The food menu is on the small side, but I see that as a good thing. The menu has a good mix of Asian & Western. Their coffee is pretty good, though this is not the place if you're looking for an excellent latte art. There are plenty of parking area. WiFi is good, though I wish I didn't have to ask for the password. They could've use a splash screen or have it written somewhere. Service is just ok if you come with a big group. And they don't make it obvious that there is no table service. BTW, if this is the first time you go there, slow down as you get closer. The entrance to the area will come at you fast. And it won't be so obvious that you're at the right place. And if you missed it, it's a pain in the a** to make 2 U-turns on that busy...

nice place but over price and food quality is not stable.

Walnut which placed in salad was not fresh , taste like the cookies from old storage in my grand mother since 5 years old.

Crispy chicken placed beautiful, but the chicken is over fried. And the price is over than other same kind of cafe and restaurant.

Finally, even we complained to waitress, we still not get the positive feedback or apology. We are so sad . That cafe is my friends’ and my lovely place since 4 years ago. Pls make something improvement.

We wait the orders for almost 45mins . I don’t know what happened in the back kitchen.😓 we have another meeting after lunch. We spend long time eating lunch , so we have no time to take a rest . 😖
