MENSA The Table — Restaurant in Semarang

My first impression is excellent service! Once I stepped out from my car, there's a man who welcome us and lead us to the lift. This make an excellent impression for me. Mensa it self is a modern style restaurant with an elegant ambience.

They offer a good standart for healthy procedures, such as: all the staffs are using mask and gloves, they also provide hand sanitizer in many spots, including every tables there. I'm sure these procedures are sattisfying our need in this pandemic.

Mensa provides quite wide range of food and beverages in western and asian style. In the food category, they offer pork, beef, chicken, duck, salmon, salad and pasta; while in the beverage category, they offer coffee, tea, wine, beer, and variety of mocktail and cocktail. They have dessert too, like cake, mousse, pannacota, etc.

After a good contemplation, we finally choose to have one western and one asian dish to try. I choose roast beef au gratin ( it's a tenderloin steak with red wine sauce, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed champignon mushroom) and my bf choose thai red curry roast duck breast ( it's a roasted duck breast served with curry soup and additional basil leaves and lychee. - i know it sound weird, but it is trully lychee lol).

I think we both agree that the duck with curry is mindblowing! The duck is so moist, tender, and of course seasoned well without being overpowering.while the curry tastes so good that we don't mind licking the spoon :D. Btw, this duck need to be served with rice. Believe me, this duck is the best duck dish we've tried in town!

And for the beef, it's good. The meat is tenderloin roasted with a medium done level. It has a dried exterior and a pinkish juicy interior. The size is good, about standart size for steak. (Around 200 grams maybe?) The red wine sauce is served in a small container which is enough for one steak, unfortunately it tastes a bit too salty for my licking. The mushrooms are juicy, and mashed potatoes are so-so. The only thing I regret is there's no salad here. Overall, the star of this dish is the excellent quality of meat.

We ordered tea and soda, i think we can't comment anything about those.

Finally, we are saying that our time here is an excellent experience. Definitely will come back in the future!

Tak ketinggalan, bagi pecinta hidangan penutup, Matcha Chocolate Delight bisa menjadi pilihan. Dessert ini memadukan matcha dan dark chocolate cream dengan tekstur lembut seperti mousse, memberikan sentuhan manis yang pas untuk menutup santapan Anda.

Selain makanan, Mensa The Table juga menawarkan berbagai pilihan minuman, baik mocktail maupun cocktail. Salah satu yang menarik adalah Pisang Chocolate Negroni, yang menggabungkan Campari dengan pisang Ambon dan sweet vermouth dengan dark cacao, menghasilkan cita rasa yang rich, tart, hingga silky.

Dari segi fasilitas, restoran ini memiliki beberapa area yang bisa dipilih sesuai kebutuhan. Ada main dining room untuk suasana makan yang lebih umum, tiga VIP room dengan kapasitas berbeda (6, 10, hingga 12 orang) untuk pertemuan lebih privat, dan bar untuk area indoor. Mensa Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff. The ambiance was charming.

I ordered the Seafood Aglio Olio, and it was a masterpiece on a plate! The pasta was perfectly cooked and generously topped with an array of fresh seafood that burst with flavor in every bite. To end the meal, I indulged in the Creme Brulee dessert, and it was sheer perfection.
