Tanoshi Izakaya Restaurant — Restaurant in Semarang

A good friend of mine recommended this place, saying that loads of Japanese eats here, so I did.

Food was good, ate the Premium Chirashi, although the cut choice of the Totoro wasn't so good, you could see from photos the chef got too close to the back bone, tough to chew. As for the others are good, Wasabi was not hot enough fer me unfortunately.

Agedashi tofu was the appetizer, pretty small portion, wasn't expecting that 😅

Asked the server about the Sukiyaki, saying that it's not sweet, though I knew it was, so she wasn't well informed of the menu being served. The beef choice was the highlight, tender and juicy and perfect companion to the Sukiyaki 👌🏻

Overall food was good, however same can't be said for the eating place, too dark of the lighting and loads of mosquitoes on a biting frenzy. Hence quite distrubing 🙄

Though I will come back, but with a mini Vape mosquito spray with me. Unless management decided to spray before opening or brighten up the...

First time to have a meal here on August 14, 2020. Price is fair. Taste is fair. Ambient is fair. But what I regret a lot is the cooks behaviour. When I went to the restroom I saw them serving food with their face-masks down while TALKING AND LAUGHING TO EACH OTHER. I told them nicely to wear the face-masks properly. They just laughed and said 'yes' to me. I even told to my waitress about it. He said that he will tell them again. But until I left the resto, I saw them EVEN WIHTOUT FACE-MASKS serving the food, still while chatting to one another..!

Considering this is a pandemic season, I assume this as a DISGUSTING & irresponsible acts of the cooks. Hopefully when the owner read this, he/she can fix this...

Its an authentic Japanese Restaurant with a Japanese design interior. Awesome. They serve sushi , salad , sashimi , sushi roll , teppanyaki , ramen , udon , and other Japanese dessert. We can enjoy the food accompany with sake , wine , or beer here.

Today I try unagi sushi , chicken karaage , gyoza , salmon sushi roll (Izakaya Roll) , beef sushi roll (Gyuniku Roll) , and their taste are so good. Price matter is $$$ out of 5 level , but its worth it to enjoy.

The place is comfortable and full air cond , they have several semi private table , with transparent curtain as a divider , its a brilliant idea to make a comfort feeling for us.
