The Ribs and Dips — Restaurant in Semarang

I actually went to this establishment with high hopes, after hearing much rave reviews beforehand...boy was I in for a surprise.

The whole ambience was alright, after I ordered, the first thing I consume was a Lemongrass Ice tea (was a hot day), and gosh was it sweeeeeet, it's like they poured the syrup or sugar over the top. I kindly asked the staff to top it up with more water. Helped a little.

After I received my Lemongrass Pesto Basil Chicken Pasta at super speed, even faster than the two appetizer that I ordered. Wasn't really happy that it got out super quick, more so on the concern side. True enough, I was right...half of the chicken was undercooked and I couldn't eat it. I point it out to the staff, and they merely asked to write down my input on their comment card..oooooookay.

My wife ordered the Pork Belly fried rice, with the "chef's thumbs up" icon next to it, I beg to differ, as I would gave it a thumbs down for it being on the sweet side, it totally does not pair well with the salty pork, unless they're going for the sweet & savory, which were not indicated in the menu in the first place. So that was a letdown.

All in all, it's kind of a shame to know that the one meal that was acceptable was the pork dumpling and Pork Belly.

Oh and not forgetting the shoe string French fries that I got, I mean with this level of restaurant to be serving a over flavored shoe string (not even sure what seasoning it was, a mystery) was appalling really (no offense to you shoestring fans, I mean I could get it at McDonalds really)

Again, overall the eating experience that my family and I had there wasn't memorable, as it was a forgettable experience.

Truly hope the management heed to these inputs.

As far as returning again, it's a NO for me.

You know a restaurant is well-run when you always leave satisfied 😊 It is my go-to place to hang out especially when visiting in groups. Not only they have a wide variety of tasty menus that fit everyone's likings, but also their warm atmosphere and customer service that always ensure me a pleasant dining experience 😍

Been here so many times that I can confirm that you can never go wrong with your meal choices here. From their tender and juicy pork ribs, crispy pork belly, or their good old-fashioned steak, everything is generously portioned and always packed with flavours. You can totally tell from their finger-licking sauces that they cook with compassion. Their pizzas and appetizers are too good to be shared and their selections of pasta and rice dishes are always comforting.

I have ordered a pork knuckle set and as per menu photos the knuckle should come one piece. But as you can see in the photo, it comes something that I cannot describe if it is pork knuckle or not because doesn’t look anything like it, as of the taste yes, it is close to pork knuckle. This has not been fried in one piece because each piece is dry af and definitely old! You cannot deep fry a full pork knuckle in 5-7 minutes, even if it is pre cooked. Shame on the kitchen and the management who doesn’t check their products. Sorry but I was really looking for this meal but it didn’t bring me any good...
