For tourists, this is a must try. I know... I know... gudeg is supposed to be Yogyakarta's delicacy but this particular Gudeg is different. It has a more subtle taste and more add-on options. At first glance, the location may seem sketchy (hey don't judge the book by its cover), but fear not as the food is amazing! While waiting in line, you can smell the food and the mastermind concoction the 'chef' is making, so it is also fresh. There are also plenty of staffs handling each function. This means they are hygienic, money handlers and servers are different people. Recommend trying this once.

Read moreStreet food at its finest!!! All the other reviews are pretty spot on, the gudeg is not too sweet like the Jogja variant, but more savory in taste. The stinky beans (pete) is crunchy and aromatic. The Koyor (muscle part) is bouncy and tender with a nice kick to it. And to close it off the coconut milk (santan) used to top of the meal is rich and tangy, like how it’s supposed to be done, not diluted stuff 🤓👏

If you're not from local Semarang, they will blindly shoot you the price as it's not even stated or put in the menu. Aside from the cleanliness is also really bad because they take money and grab the food with the same hand which you know what are the risks. The atmosphere is not even worth the price as well as they only open ordinary warung style and just provides rug to sit on. Crackers are also not really clean.
