Taste the service in Friday 25 Oct breakfast, as a group of 10-ish people |
As former Pre-Opening staff of first Hotel Tentrem (Yogyakarta, Circa 2012-2013) I feel that this below the Standard,
Open kitchen station layout bit not percieve as "attarction spot" Aggresive hospitality, warm like Tentrem with Sugeng Enjang, Sugeng Rawuh, not properly pronounce in the manner it become warm to the guest During breakfast, we feel that F&B team that clear up dirt plate is not fast enough, until those plate occupied our entire table, and we need to call to clear it up. When I order plain omelette, the staff is not that feel happy as they already provide standard omellete, recalled what Alm. Chef Maranata Butar-Butar (First Executive Chef Of Hotel Tentrem) that train hospitality as important as cooking, he might not that happy looking from above there. Important signage in parking lot using printed paper, for 5 star really?
But plus point Jamu station attendant, is really match the standard. She offer help and warn when I took black Jamu as stir one, which I know, but I appreaciate her. As understand many people will miss inteprete as other drink. I impress with f&b biller that not asking who to pay, and she memorize person who do reservation, For 4.5 star standard I think already there, and staff is trained sufficiency for 4.5 star standard. But for 5 star standard I think it can be improve further, dont get me wrong as former pre-opening team of its first franchise, I really hope this brand could success even more. We...
Read moreI stayed at Hotel Tentrem Jakarta for 3 days and 2 nights, and I have to say—the restaurant truly impressed me. I had breakfast and dinner throughout my stay, and not a single meal missed the mark. While the buffet isn’t overwhelmingly large, every dish served was consistently delicious and well-prepared.
What really makes the dining experience special is their unique local food stalls. They featured iconic Indonesian favorites like Gudeg Yu Djum, Asem-Asem Koh Liem, and Soto Betawi H. Mamat—a rare treat to find all under one roof. It felt like a mini culinary journey across Indonesia.
They also had fun and surprising options like jamu corner, “Tolak Angin” ice cream (yes, you read that right!)—surprisingly refreshing—and even an Indomie corner which they just introduced this weekend. We were lucky to try it, and it’s only available on weekends. Definitely a creative and nostalgic twist for locals and a fun discovery for international guests.
Overall, I was more than satisfied. The service was warm, the atmosphere comfortable, and the food quality exceeded expectations. Would absolutely recommend dining here whether you’re staying at the hotel or just...
Read moreMy wife and I really enjoyed the traditional authentic Indonesian brunch at Hotel Tentrem’s Kayu Manis restaurant. We grew up in Indonesia but have been living in the States, so it’s a real treat to taste again familiar food with nostalgia memories. They have food made fresh in “kaki lima” carts (UMKM) such as Kue Ape, Kue Putu, Soto Betawi, Asem-Asem Semarang, Kupat Tahu Magelang, and our favorite fruits Salak and Rambutan. The kitchen can even make special request food not in the menu. The ambience is perfect with choice on indoor and outdoor settings. We came in January during rainy season so it’s pleasantly breezy cool outside. The service and staff are 5 stars with “Javanese” politeness that just makes you feel like royal guest and at-home at the same time. We would like to extend our gratitude and commend the excellent Kayu Manis team of Philip, Aam, Edwin, Noey, Rama, Noor, Marsya, and entire staff. 🙏 We’re supposed to stay here for 3 days but now extending it to...
