If you are looking for a fancy beautiful place to celebrate something special or you wanna invite your dear friend from abroad to try Indonesian cuisine then you are looking at the one !

First of all their interior design is very modern and spacious, designed very well and classy. Dont worry if you are coming with a big family, because they have mostly large long tables or they may adjust the table for your big family to fit in. They have variety of VIPs room according to your need even a bigger room for a private event at the top floor.

Dine in here for the second time with family. Coming back here craving for the sweet sour soup fish. Mix of taste sweet savory not too spicy either. Little bit taste like (pindang) a south sumatra popular soup dish. The Gourami fish was fried before cooked with pineapple, basil leaves, onion with other fresh seafood like octopus, scallop and shrimp. Fresh, tangerine and comfortable just perfect to have especially when its raining heavily outside.

The other champion is their fried salted egg long beans. This is the first time we tried this menu, crispy yet crunchiness of the beans were retained. Sauteed with onion salted egg and their classic small fragrance leaf.

Dont forget to order their fried noodle, taste like classic (street food hawker style) Indonesian stir fried noodle. Sweet and savory with slight spiciness and not too dry. Today we also tried the grill prawn, flavour was good but the consistency of the prawn was just too soft "squishy" for me. I'd prefer of a juicy and crunchy type. also the grill squid was overcook.

Scallop dish cooked with black pepper sauteed with egg and onion. The peppery taste from the black pepper definitely stand out, made this dish was one of their favourite here. Although you need to pair them with rice its a bit too salty to my preference if you eat em alone.

For kids they love their fried chicken a lot, you may pair it with uduk (coconut savory) rice definitely kids friendly. we tried their traditional chicken satay with peanut sauce, and otak otak (grill fish paste) in banana leaf dipped with peanut sauce. Also various ice shave like halo halo in the Philippines but this time Indonesian style (es teler, es campur).

First time visiting Pondok Kemangi to service Japanese Guests.

Food is average. Some of the menu is either too salty or too sweet. Arguably there are many fancy Sundanese restaurant with better taste, but menu variance covers it.

Service is very bad. We asked ice for beers but it took more than 15 minutes to prepare it. It came without proper tong and we have to ask another ice because we only received ice cube in 2 cup of glass for 11 people.

We reserved ahead and pay 30% in advance, but can only be done by cash / bank transfer. On the D day, when we tried to make payment by BCA credit cards, the register told us that we cannot pay using BCA card for partial payment like this. I hope they told us beforehand when we paid the advance money. Furthermore, after we made payment and leaving the place, one of the waiter rush to our car and stopped us because he forgot to add 1 menu to the payment. I tried to make the payment, by BCA Card again because this time it is not partial payment, but the register said that we cannot use it because the EDC Machine is broken . . . Really? I guess either they hate BCA or the staff are just a bad liar.

Another one, we asked the staff to take the picture of we and our guests, but the staff did it in a rush that most of our picture is blurred.

Atmosphere is good. Although hall tables in the 2nd floor is a bit hot due to lack of air conditioning.

Final Verdict: Okay to try, but won't come for...

The place is inside business area, near offices, stores, and mall. Beside a very busy 3 cars wide road. There is a secure pay parking park inside, for both 4 and 2 wheels. The restaurant is in the right building, and the left is for another kind of restaurant. Surrounded by wide glass windows, you can see both inside outside or vice versa. Inside restaurant.., very cozy, cool, calm, with a " Natural color " Interior. You can sit anywhere you like, without reducing comfort. There are 2 rooms inside, a wide room just one floor and small room have a second floor for private even, maybe for about 100 persons could be comodated in all rooms. Table chairs combination is up from 4 chairs. Good service and fast respon. Very busy at lunch or dinner time. And.. in my experience.., please don't forget to check your bill again, because during busy times, the cashier could make a mistake by adding an additional bill for food you didn't order. The taste of the foods... Hmm... I suggest...
