So , a good food with an old indonesian-chinese housecook setup place. Like the portion, but do not like the ambience.
Food is great, decent taste with decent price but a pretty big portion. Basically most of the menu here is a 2 people portion. I ordered a pork porridge and my friend ordered their popular menu, noodle. Both of them are pretty large , like 1.5 to 2 persons portion large. Tastes are good, anything with pork of course tastes good, except this one menu called "bakwan babi" , which is a pork dough nugget. The bakwan tastes very blant and most of it are flour-y, so no aroma. The outside is not even crispy, it's hard.
Place is like your classic indonesian chinese housecook place. They do not decor the place, just put calendar and some simple table and chair. The kitchen is right beside the entrance. Also eating zone is medium , but since the place is oftentimes crowded , it become uncomfortable, even the air circulation and air conditioning is good enough.
Service is pretty neutral , nothing much to say.
Overall, like the food , could come again probably in the future, but won't buy the...
Read morebest noodle in town. always packed with customer. be warned, if you come at lunch time @ sunday. queue is guaranteed. but it's okay. usually people inside know about that and quickly finish their meal.
me and my brother ordered jumbo sized noodle. not a single regret i had eating so many fat in one intake. 9/10 will come back next month
TIPS come here when it's not a weekend and common meal time. or you'll be surprised with 2 or 3 queueing customer!
PROS the food, especially their "babi tore" (salty pork belly) is a true winner. Goes very well with their noodle. portion are humongous, worth the price in my honest opinion. quick cooking time hygiene are generally acceptable. You can see the cooking process so you can judge it by yourself. Not many eating place dare to do that and that's a plus point for me.
CONS could be very crowded at times very...
Read moreThis place was a lot better with their food and that's why I came. But now, they provide better service but not the kind of food I'll come back for even it's still ok. Their babi tore still surprisingly good. So if you want to try ujung pandang's cuisine but you stay at Surabaya, you can go to this place. Choose your portion wisely because for their noodle, they have many choices with the same kind of noodle but different portion. For traditional snack, they also have jalangkote (we call it pastel) and you can also order local brand sarsaparilla soda...
