Kedai Kita Saja — Restaurant in Surabaya

One more reason to come and love Surabaya. I come to Surabaya from Jakarta to take orthodontic treatment every month, and it is a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant by chance.

I ordered a portion of roti tissue keju milo, a bottle of limau plum pakai es and a bottle of teh tarik pakai es, the taste was so good that I ate all even I had taken supper already.

Roti tissue is crispy and sweet, you can see lots of pieces of milo and cheese on the roti tissue, the taste of the roti tissue is quite similar with that at mamak stalls in Malaysia. Next time I’d like to try roti canai with curry. The teh tarik is also authentic, and the taste is much better than instant teh tarik (if the mark of the instant teh tarik is 8/10, this one is 10/10). All the food and drinks mentioned above is around Rp.50,000, the price is quite reasonable.

Definitely will come again to try roti canai and nasi goreng. Expect to see teh tiga warna to be available.

The owner is friendly, and to my big surprise, the owner can speak Mandarin.

However, there’ room for improvement of service of the waiters, they cannot (or maybe unwilling to) remember whose order is earlier, you may encounter your dish (the same dish, eg. roti tissue) is served later than the one who orders later than yours. As others mentioned, the waiters and waitresses seem not to be willing to serve, I came at around 4:25pm on Friday, one other customers dining, maybe because the owner was not in, all the staff were idle, they would rather chitchat or watch HPs than do their jobs, the female with golden earrings even didn’t reply when I say “makasia ya” when she served...

i went there several times and i remember the name was sabindo. a little bit confused when google maps named it as kedai kita saja. my favourites are roti tissue and ice teh tarik. i also tried the fried noodle, tasted so good too. i really love the service, means that they write the opening hour is until 10 p.m and they really close their store at 10 p.m even when only my table left. but for me the ambience is not comfy, especially they have no air conditioner and the music they played on speaker was like kind of dangdut...

A great improvement since last time I visited now that they have non smoking, indoor air-con room. Food quality is still well maintained. And tbh, this place has the best and most affordable roti tissue in town.
