Palazzo Zangrandi - Polisi Istimewa — Restaurant in Surabaya

The building itself looks more modern than the other zangrandi. The signature menu is of course ice creams. However they also offer other menus. The food tastes okay. What I remember most from my visit last December is that the service was bad (based on my experience). They have open bar which they use to prepare beverages and snack that is also the place for cashier. At that time the place was packed with people who previously joined the Christmas eve mass. Probably it was never that full because the waitresses seemed too overload with orders that they started to blame each other. It was so obvious and it was not so nice to be seen. Our first order which were ice creams came almost instantly. But our second order, tortillas took a veryyy long time. We asked the waitress 2 times and was told that it was being prepared. Honestly I'm not a big fan of ice cream desserts, but loads of people asked me to try out this legendary of a place in Surabaya, would be a crime not to, right?

Asked for their best seller, the Macedonia, was too strong of a Sweetness fer me, especially coupled with the rum 😅 tasted good though, just can't handle that much.

Was full from my previous lunch, so I ordered snacks, the likes of Tahu Crispy. Lacking of flavor I must say...had to ask for salt from the waitress to enhance the taste. Woulda been great had they seasoned the flour more thoroughly.

All in all, it was just an okay first experience, perhaps I happened to ordered wrongly.

Would give it a second chance around, perhaps with companies of local friends 😁

I am very grateful this place open in the heart of the city but not inside a mall. A traditional taste of Indonesian ice cream such as ice cream soda, macedonia, banana split, and cassata in a well presented plating.

A modern yet warm ambiance of the ice cream shop brings back the childhood memory. With another new concept and a lot of food variants, completed with free wifi and huge parking lot makes this place more comfortable.
