Tenda Daun Solo — Restaurant in Surakarta

I can say this place has extremely cheap foods and people might like it. Once I n my friend arrived, the place was very crowded and full. It was semi-outdoor. I waited but nobody (waiter/employee) came to us, so we joined random person bcs we needed to sit. The place was a bit dark, might be bcs of the lights they're using was dim and yellow colored to boost the atmosphere there, which actually was annoying.

After 10-15 minutes, a group was done eating, so we moved to their seat. Using a used window as a table is not a good idea. It was not ergonomic and very dirty. It was in the outdoor area, so there were many groups of ants there, gross, and I barely saw it but could feel it. I can't call it a creativity bcs I know it's very uncomfortable to put my plate and bowl on a window that has glass frame, like, popping up under my plate. Beside, it was too narrow for both of us to put something on this thing. I should put my plate too close or too far from me.

And, unfortunately, we spent about 45 minutes just to get my friend's hot tea. My drink (juice) and our food (rice bowl and steamed bread) didn't seem coming out soon after that. We needed to wait around 15 minutes more, and that could happen bcs we asked the waiter how long we should wait (again). And again, I didn't think the food was good. The steamed bread wasn't special, it was literally (loaf) bread plus topping n filling, then steamed and one item we ordered didn't come until the very end. I felt like, it's better leave that place soon bcs I was getting mad.

So, the hygiene and service were bad. It's better to fix the management of the restaurant bcs I could see some staffs were doing nothing when they should be busy taking order and delivering food. But it's a wow that everything there was very cheap (still it shouldn't be an excuse for...

I visited Tenda Daun Solo on a Sunday afternoon, and the atmosphere was pretty relaxed, with not too many people around, making it a nice spot to hang out without the usual crowd.

The service was fast, which is always a plus. I ordered their nasi goreng, and while the taste was just average, my spaghetti carbonara taste wrong and below the average tbh. The portion was huge, which makes it great value for the price. Speaking of price, this place is incredibly cheap for a café, making it an excellent option for budget-friendly dining.

They offer both indoor (AC) and outdoor (non-AC) seating, so you can choose based on your preference. The indoor area is more comfortable if you want to escape the heat, while the outdoor area is more open and casual.

One downside is the parking situation, especially for cars. The road in front of the café is quite narrow, making parking tricky and inconvenient, so keep that in mind if you're driving.

I found this place from food blogger on the instagram, but the place and especially the food it's not as good as it seems on insta. I order various menu like chicken, dori fish and grilled ribs, mix platter etc. Chicken is okay but for dori fish still smells like mud and for grilled ribs the meat is very tough.
