The right place to eat if you wish to find a dead slug in your food :) That’s what happened to me for sure when I ate their “beef curry” with a bonus of dead slug cause they didn’t clean their vegetables properly. 0/10 for sanitary.
In all seriousness, this is a tourist trap (both expat & local) if you’re going snorkelling your guide will 100% take you here for lunch as I’m pretty sure they get commissions (good for them), but unless you’re STARVING, I 100% would stay away from this “warung”.
The food is unbelievably bland, it’s as if they don’t know seasonings or even salt exists. It’s not fresh at all (I can assure you they cooked it in a big batch considering how many people come at the same time from the snorkelling boats which is at least 20 ppl per boat).
On top of that, it’s extremely overpriced for what you get. IDR 60.000 for a nasi goreng with barely any veggies or meat that should only cost 1/6th of that at a hawker that would also taste 10x better. I’m not exaggerating when I say their food tastes disgusting.
The cheapest dish on the menu is 50k and thats just for either nasi goreng or capcay. Not including drink or water so expect to pay around 100k per person for such an underwhelming meal.
Trust me, if you’re not starving then don’t order anything. It’s better to wait to get back to Gili Trawangan for proper food that tastes better, healthier, and worth your money.
I’d love to help the economy of Gili Meno inhabitants but I can’t justify this. This is straight up robbery/...
Read moreGot dumped here on a snorkeling tour. Tried to go elsewhere but the next restaurant was closed so it was the only option. Food was the worst we've had in Indonesia so far: french fries were raw on the inside and the chicken burger was clearly prepackaged from frozen. We also ordered chicken dabu dabu but were served chicken balado instead, which was bland and dry. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive, even though the restaurant was clearly expecting us as part of the snorkel tour (I'm guessing they must have a deal with the tour operators). Everything was overpriced given the low quality. The only good things are that the staff were friendly and they refilled our water bottles with filtered water for free. If you get dropped here on a snorkeling tour, definitely try to go elsewhere - despite what your tour operators try to tell you, you very likely have...
Read moreTourist trap, snorkling tours drop you off here. Extreme long wait times (for us is was 1h10min after complaining. We ordered a fish burger and got a burned bum and beef instead of fish. The middle of the burger was still fozen. The chicken curry had frozen chicken. Drinks where oke.
My advice:
I also told the snorkling tour guide that I was planning on giving him a tip as he did a good job but that I won't because of the dropoff for lunch.
Still snorkling trip was...
