We came in for happy hour, ordered a few cocktails and beers which were all fine. Read the menu which clearly stated at the bottom that prices “includes all taxes and service fees”.

Drinks were fine. Went to pay, asked the bartender what I owe and instead of just telling me the total the bartender prints out a receipt, slides in into some fancy folder, closes it and slides the folder to me

Well, I knew right then and there that this is not good news because this is never how a bill is handled in Indonesia and this pretension was all going somewhere.

Sure enough, in spite of the clearly printed notice on the menu the receipt says 10% tax and 10% service charge. I only purchase a few drinks, I’m not going to get into it with the bartender over 40k Rupiah but the dishonesty is not...

I’ve spent a week on the island so far and this is by far my favorite bar. It’s always quiet and calm and the scenery is so peaceful with the big open window and balcony I love this places vibe. The man behind the bar is incredible, so nice and kind. He’s very friendly and actually knows how to make a good drink. I find it odd how the best cocktails on the island are not along the beach at the resorts, the best tasting cocktails I’ve had in my last 7 days have been from here. This place is amazing and so underrated. The best set up for watching a sporting event. It is quieter so the atmosphere will grow with time. It is only place we found that sells cigars! They also have the best selection of spirits on the island. We decided to order a burger, the only more western meal we have had on this trip and we’re worried at first.
