As a devoted food enthusiast and former restaurateur, stumbling upon a gem like Qerang in Lombok was a delightful surprise, especially amidst previous concerns about food quality and cleanliness on the island. Qerang's seafood offerings truly stood out, presenting a refreshing and inventive take on traditional dishes. The Seafood Carbonara Pasta, a unique twist on an Italian classic, replaced bacon with fish belly, catering perfectly to my pescatarian preferences. The Swordfish Belly with Romesco Sauce was an absolute revelation, a dish I'd never experienced before but won't soon forget. And the finale, Chef Vittorio's Pistachio Tiramisu, was simply unparalleled – undoubtedly the finest rendition I've ever tasted. It was the first stay in Lombok for my girlfriend and me and we were researching where to have a nice dinner for our first night. We decided to pick Qerang because the reviews and menu looked great. We were not disappointed!

We booked in advance and were given the table with the sofa seat close to the beach - ideal for couples. We arrived at around 6:30pm so we got to watch the sunset from our table which really was stunningly beautiful. The atmosphere and location is really great - being right by the sea, all you really hear is the sound of the waves and the breeze blowing the leaves of the surrounding trees.

The staff and service were incredible! Everyone treated us so well and were very attentive. They were cheerful and eager to please which made the whole experience a very enjoyable one.

The food was amazing! Our favorite dishes were the salmon risotto, beef strip loin, and swordfish parmigiana. All dishes were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic.

We ordered 3 dishes and one dessert. The portions are small for this price and a dessert was simply a joke. It wasnt an apple cake/tart. It was rather a tiny “apple cookie”. So sweet that i couldnt continue after just one bite. For 6€! The atmosphere- the waiter was too overwhelming and fake. Asking our names and where we stay, asking who is the boss etc…. I noticed that in better restaurants Indonesian waiters tend to do it probably expecting the tips. This is truly annoying. People are from different countries and cultures, not everyone likes it. A professional waiter shouldnt ask any questions that dont concern the food we order. (Btw the question about the taste of the food was given almost after a first bite and we felt forced to say that it was ok) If we go to the restaurant, we are not here to make (fake) friends, we are here to eat good food and spend nice relaxing time with each other, not with the waiter.
