Meal in the sand on the beachfront worth it. Very basic warung, a few tabke and chairs in the sand. ( Toilet was pretty scary) I got the grilled fish in garlic butter sauce with rice and vegies with a fresh mango juice for a bit over 100k idr. See pic . Fish was big, it covered half the plate! , bones in and fresh with a nice topping of onion capsicum and bean sprouts. Vegies were just barely cooked. Home style basic cooking. Young waiter boy just speaks enough English to take order with pointing to menu but can't manage any further questions/ explanation of menu. Another staff ( owner?) was able to speak well but wasn't there the time we went but had spokento him before. Husband had prawns and said it was average and spring rolls were chicken and veg that he said was better. Great view. Like being able to support the local business. Meal was overall 6.5 /10 which is good since we were used to eating at the swanky ( and expensive) western resorts that surround this warung which had left a very...
Read moreWe were looking for a dinner place (staying at Sudamala) and Paradiso was an option. Didn't realise how close it was, it was literally next door to the hotel. Step out on the beach and it was next to the retention wall separating Sudamala and Paradiso. Food was decent, can't complain based on the prices offered. Wasn't great (by Indonesian standard, if you are looking for better tasting Indonesian food, look across the road from Qunci resort). Fun part was as we were dining during dinner time (high tide), sometimes the waves would overlap across the beach and flow under the chairs. Nothing too dangerous, we just needed to lift out legs from the sandy beach floor and put on the leg stands. Definitely makes for good...
Read moreThis place has good food, and right on the beach. You might miss the turn so be sure to check the map before. You take a short dirt road past the friendly goat and you are there, with beautiful views with friendly people. If you sit a bit further back you can watch the chef work her magic, and if you sit right up front, you might get to see people learning to surf to the one side and boats moored to the other side. Only advice I have is be prepared to bargain, before we even ordered, the hagglers had arrived to bargain, for two days in a row, as we sat down they started arriving. Not the friendly Thailand kind of bargaining either, but the gritty relentless kind, the in your...
